Walton is toast in time and he knows it.. Has to be someone to blame. First sign of a Laker losing streak from this point forward he's gonna get axed.. Nature of the beast..

Lakers are on the fringe of not making the playoffs with Lebron and that is cause for change and to fire someone.https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/standings/

Not Luke's fault and it's not fair if you ask me.

you're missing the point. when coaches get axed midseason there is usually no one out there better to coach them at that given time of the firing, but the team is looking for some kind of a spark so they make the change.

see lakers 2012 when they axed mike brown just 5 games into the season
see USC in 2013 when they axed lame lane kiffin just 5 or 6 games into the season
see ucla 2018 when they axed steve alford just 12 or 13 games into the season

when you are going nowhere fast, and looking for a spark and a way to turn your season around, you axe the coach and promote a staffer to the interim HC job, preferably a staffer who you know the team likes.

i agree, it just is what it is. Life is not fair. it is what it is. Luke will be just fine. another sucker out there will think that because he was on Kerr's staff, he has some magical coaching powers.

every time a young guy who is just a few years removed from playing, gets a Head Coaching job, i predict it will fail and i am right.

                jason kidd
                earl watson
                derek fisher
                luke walton

i have predicted all of them will fail. i am 3 for 3 and counting. it's too easy.

If they fire Walton than Shaw will likely take over, but Shaw is a passive coach, Lebron will just be running the team. I think Walton stays, the Lakers don't want to look like the Cavs and Buss still likes Walton who has deep ties to LA going back to his playing days. The real issue will be if Walton coaches the team next year, firing the coach midseason makes the organization look disorganized.

LeBron always coaches. We all know this. It's the worst kept secret in the NBA

The one guy that knows GSW better than anyone is Mark Jackson. He was basically the architect of the Warriors and was shown the door. The guy knows basketball and knows better than anyone on how to defend GSW. Plus he has a huge chip on his shoulder. The first guy I would put on my payroll, even if just as a consultant would be him.

100% agree. Any western conference team with a slimmer of hope beating GSW, could use him at least like you said a consultant.

No team is beating the Warriors this year.. May as well give them the title now.. Only thing that will beat this ALL STAR stacked Warriors team are injuries.. Got a half season to go.. Injuries do and can happen.

That starting five is an All Star Team right now with the Warriors. Bench isn't that bad either.. It's a done deal.

Or.....they get blown out at Philly today and magic Johnson fires luke immediately
they are 1-4 since i posted this on 2/10. Luke is a good coach but this is not the right fit for him. let him go now because he will get canned in the offseason anyway. see if you can get a spark by elevating an asst to the interim spot right now.

you can salvage the season. a coaching change usually sparks a team, whether the change was justified or not. make the change and you will go on a nice winning run. just watch.

The guy knows basketball and knows better than anyone on how to defend GSW. Plus he has a huge chip on his shoulder. The first guy I would put on my payroll, even if just as a consultant would be him.

When Steve Kerr came in, GS completely changed the way they played. Night and day. Steve Kerr is a mastermind, and likely to go down as the greatest coach who ever lived.

Lakers not making the playoffs and Walton won't be coaching next year.

They will keep him around as the scapegoat this season though. LeBron knows if the can him now and still suck he will get blamed.
