GT coach has retired. No one really practiced since last game for GT since the coach abandoned the ship. Minnessota has been putting double practices since last game. I expect Minnesota to come out very strong.

That's the point. It's his last game. But the team hasn't been practicing the last 3 weeks since they were destroyed by Georgia. Once the coach said he is gone the players quit caring.

1- Marshall going to be 1st Tech qb in modern era w 2 1000 yard rushing seasons here today. He's motivated!

2- Tech got a point to prove to ACC bowl placement committee....they should be in a better bowl.

3- MN linebacker Cashman sitting out as well for NFL plus one unnamed starter now will sit for violating team rules. Still yet unnamed I believe.

Yeah, Georgia Tech has been practicing the last 3 weeks, the claim they have not been is one of the dumber things I've heard on SBR. Tech also feels extremely disrespected by the bowl they got - they should be playing Wisconsin but Miami is a bigger draw for TV money. Tech will be sharp here.

How the two coaches go about balancing the desire to win and still have fun will play out over the next three weeks. Johnson expects his Yellow Jackets (7-5) to practice about 10 times, while Fleck said the Gophers (6-6) will have 12 or 13 practice sessions.

Biggest thing in Bowl games is motivation and GT has none here...GT finished 4th in the ACC and thought they would go to the Belk Bowl and was sent to Detroit to play in what is considered the worst of the bowls that an ACC team participates in. Tech was very vocal about not wanting to go to Detroit...Bad spot for GT...jmo...

I think the opposite is true. I think Tech wants to make a statement that they've been disrespected by getting this bowl game and they want to blow Minnesota out. I think they want to send Johnson out a winner, QB is a senior, Tech has good leadership.

Not that I care but if the extra time to prepare was that big of a deal Johnson would be 2-10 in bowl games not 5-7, and Minnesota hasn't seen the option offense in 2 years, 12 practices won't prepare them for what they will see, key linebackers are out too.
