I was thinking that more competition might make these Vegas sports books better by reducing their juice. That's been my only problem with the Vegas books is that they have uncompetitive juice. Everybody is 10 cents out here. I would like to see it at 5 cents.
And to think, many of us thought legalizing and taxing the industry would bring -120 lines.
If we could just drop to -105 or even -108 in Nevada and things could be so much better.

Sportsbook managers a dime a dozen
The likes of Avello, Dufty, Vaccaro, Kornegay, etc., etc., etc., etc are rather easliy replaced.
These guys are not neurosurgeons, good lord.
.........................and stating they are bookmakers is not even the correct title.

So true, these guys don't make book, the manage a book.
Never more obvious than in Lake Tahoe when the books were getting hit with "local" Warriors and SF Giants money during post seasons.
Those guys were left hung out to dry as only Vegas could make the move. The managers in Tahoe weren't concerned with protection.
In fact, I was "held" (I use the term loosely) once while they looked into a mistake I pointed on the big board in Harrvey's (Caeser's property).
They couldn't fix the mistake, a typo, because it had to be done in Vegas.

Las Vegas is going to be the biggest loser in the sports betting arena in the coming years it’s going to be and also ran at best.
They thought they had the market cornered and now going to be just a dot on the USA map
Sportsbook director is just a title and a paycheck. The majority do very little but attend meetings and go for lunch. The lines are set by someone else anyways. So Johnny A took a good gig out of state because he knew Wynn wouldn’t keep his salary with Steve booted. Frank from Caesars leaving for Draft Kings is a non-factor. He knew how to run a book to the ground, not how to increase volume.
Sportsbetting is the buffet of the gaming side of the casino business. It is an amenity to draw people in to play slots, tables, see a show etc...The average sports bettor is a flea to the business. That is why you get drink coupons for well pours after wagering a few thousand dollars.

It makes zero difference to me where the hub of the sports books are based. I gave up my gaming license for the cannabis business. Best decision I ever made. Our 600k investment in Essence will pay off big time after the 290 mil sale.
I don't hire old white people.

No can do. You said it is a gateway drug. Wouldn’t want you to spiral out of control and lose your hair, teeth and dignity doing hard drugs.

I think FH worked with that Avello guy when they both worked at the Sands and Alladin.
Know for a fact that Vacarro harassed the women he worked with at the Nugget.
He must have taken lesson from know perv Wynn.
I am sure that Wynn is blind now.
He walked right into me at his golf course, Shadow Creek. Simply did not see me.
That was over 20 years ago. Time flies when you are an old fuk.

Worked with Avello for two years and Dufty for four years.
Worked with many, many in the business, many still involved here and other areas, many moved on, many passed away.
