I dont think they’re certain. They’re treating it at this point as Guillan-Barre but it would’ve been brought on by something like influenzae, bad sushi, camplyobacter, or a host of other viruses. So there would be multiple diagnoses at this point. Think I read theyvwere running all the other normal tests for fever of unknown origins like west nile , zeka, etc.... They may never know

Im sure his docs have looked into everything and more. Fevers of unknown origin especially with neuro involvement tend to be virus related and can extremely difficult to treat and diagnose.

i know nothing specific of bigdays case other that what we’ve all read. The only thing I can add from my experience as an icu nurse is that people dont get any sicker than this. To be on a ventilator and still have low o2, igiv therapy, plasmapheresis, medication titration for his blood pressure, induced hypothermia, heart arrythmias, etc.... They just cant get any sicker.

Beyond that, I only have support to offer and trust his medical team along with his will to survive will pull him through this
