Because last month or so, she (Smith's now ex-wife) had him arrested for trespassing and filed other civil motions against him. It brought up where there was a police report filed in 2009 when he was on Meyer's staff in FL. When asked about Smith's history at media days in 07/2018, Meyer's lied and said he would have done something sooner if he had only known.

Not shocked. Meyer is a hell of a football coach and will cut corners to stay on top. He figured this would never come back to bite him since none of the shit his FL players did ever came back onto him. Landscape of life has changed since 2009. He should have removed Smith from his staff a long time ago. The police reports are pretty damning.

Meyer will go on a "religious sabbatical" and spend time with his family before moving on to the NFL in 2019 or 2020....unless ND cans Kelly and goes after him.
