Amazing how fast some of these big names went to shit when baseball put extra emphasis on catching cheaters.

He plays in hitters haven Camden Yards too. Signs were there though, he was a nobody in Texas, had a monster year in 2013 and then hit 47 HR in 2015. Really just a case of him being a free agent at the right age and point in his career.

He always had a low average and struck out a ton but he used to hit tons of home runs.

I belive he has like 4 this year.

THey need to figure out a way to cut him loose, honestly would help the team more just to pay him to sit on his couch. he has no work ethic and just doesn’t care. At least designate him to minors to get his head together

Ridicuously overpaid but at least he is a useful player. Good defense and still a way better hitter than Davis. Hit a walk off grand slam yesterday to Fukkk me too.

There's a buch of overpaid bums (Ellsbury comes to mind) but none are hitting .155 in 54 games. Guy has 30 hits all season lol. He's got a -1.8 WAR for christ's sake

There are a couple who are worse that have been for YEARS but somehow play every day.

Peter Bourjos and the all time worst Sean Rodriguez.

Both of those guys at least provide valuable defense.

A Baltimore bar is trying to drum up business with a promotion built around Chris Davis' historically bad start to the 2018 season.

Per Edward Lee of the Baltimore Sun, Bartenders Pub is offering patrons free Dr Pepper shooters whenever the Orioles first baseman gets a hit.

"Baseball season for us is big business," Bartenders Pub co-owner Dana Coker said. "With the team not doing so well, it's affected our business. We just can't seem to do any specials that encourage people to come to the bar and watch baseball with us."

In 57 games, Davis is hitting .150/.227/.227 with 86 strikeouts in 207 at-bats. His wins above replacement is minus-2.1, per Baseball Reference.

Such low risk on this promotion lol.

Can't hit and slow as hell. So few hits coming.

Kole Calhoun. Lewis Brinson. Bobby Wilson. Just off the top of my head. These three guys shouldn't even be in the majors. No home run power whatsoever to speak of, at least Davis has that chance to surprise you once in a while. This is all eerily similar to Jason Bay's time as a member of my beloved New York Mets.
