#13582Played penny stocks, buying early/after markets and selling at the open. Every stock I bought started to lose by $5k, $6k etc. It wiped me off in few months. You could say somewhere around $60k us.Comment -

#13586Yeah, I didn't have a chance to buy any calls when the week started, but I was able to add onto those longer term PUTS yesterday and a little today at about noon, then it was a steady slide down right into the close for the day. We'll see how it ends this week, but so far there is another doji candle brewing on the weekly chart for all the indexesComment -

#13591I've traded it for the last 2 years or so between 6-10. I got caught with my pants down this time as I sold mid 9's. Still have 40 shares but ouch. Oh well live and die by the sword.Comment -

#13592This week is just like the last 2 weeks for me, I will continue to buy PUTS that expire in Jan for all the index funds while also buying short term Calls that expire on Friday. We are starting to get into that time frame where I suspect things will turn down for the year. I'm looking at too much data that says things are too high currently to ignore. Of course things can march up the wall of worry for a while so that is why I take the short term calls as a hedge against erosion of the PUTS I have.Comment -

#13593UPST was $11.93 on May 3. Today touched $71.31. That's a 6-bagger in 3 months. Unreal. Has shown no signs of relenting so far. I will not be surprised if reaches $100 by Labor Day.Comment -

#13598I've spent the last 3 weeks loading up on PUTS, initially I was going to continue buying CALLS with weekly expiration, but on Monday at the closing I noticed that a retest of a high of a breakdown candle on a Monthly time frame was being tested. My crystal ball told me to play the pullback so now I also have weekly expiring PUTS. After today, I still think the downside has more legs, but the bigger pullback will come later so a rebound play will be on the table probably by early next week.Comment -

#13599Yesterday's VIX action dictates that there is a high probability of a rally today. With that in mind, just before the close, I sold all the Weekly PUT options, and switch them to calls, for things like the SPY, IWM, and especially the QQQ. With Amazon and Apple reporting, coupled with the phony jobs report that will be making an appearance today, I can just smell the rally. If the markets do continue down, the spot I really like for a bounce in this situation is the 444ish spot on the SPY. I don't think we get there, in fact I think the move has already started for today.Comment -

#13602Little bit of falling out of bed this morning followed by a rescue operation just above the support of $444 in the SPY. Could mark a rebound spot, also its a good idea to get the support zone for tomorrow just in case, $444 to 442.50ish is a zone where I expect things to rebound. If the SPY starts getting below that gap fill of $442.50 and starts to close hourly candles down there then maybe a daily candle, all that is left is the 50 DMA for support at the $441 and change area. This would mark a change in my mind for the grind up through the summer that we have been going through.Comment -

All I had to do was mention the run PLUG was on and look out below. I think this is a 5-10 year investment. Personally I'm adding a few more shares here.
Not sure how you enter an initial position? With these futuristic kinds I tend to start my position circa 20%. Evaluate from there and DCA as I deem appropriate. BOL!Comment -

#13606Don't think Quantum computing is any kind of fad. I'm spread across 4 or 5 positions (Think I mentioned a year or so ago). IONQ looks like a nice entry here. Baby getting thrown out with the bath water last month. Looking for an entry point on IBM. All the AI freaks are missing the boat early on this technology.Comment -

I enter ~37% of what I am willing to allocate to a position. That gives me 3 more drops of ~25% to DCA at the same share count and I will have exhausted all 100% of my allocated funds, should i choose to.
example: I have $10,000 i am willing to allocate to a position.
i enter with $3700 in shares (let's call it $100 per share) so 37 shares
25% drop to $2775 or so, i buy this much in shares (another 37)
25% drop to $2080 or so, i buy this much in shares (another 37)
another 25% drop to $1550 or so, i buy this much in shares. (lastly another 37)
total spent is $10,100
cost base $68 / share
*** Disclaimer -- I really really really need to believe in a company in order to do this DCA four times on a stock, or have started with a lower total allocation threshold of say $4000 or $6000 total i am willing to invest on 4 orders.
Also, it is rare that i will do the next buy on exactly 25% down as it might be 30% and i might buy fewer shares.
I have to feel decent about market conditions also as we know this drags stocks down in a macro sense.
on PLUG, RBLX and UPST, i definitely bought all 4 times and although it is not huge money, it is still in Deep Deep Deep red for me.Comment -

#13609We're all set up for another rally today. The PPI is coming out with those doctored inflation data and judging from the action the last couple of days, its rally time. Look to $448ish as a good resistance spot, then the number from yesterday and previous days actually $451ish as heavier resistance. Below the recent support level of $444.75ish, and we have the gap from 7/11 at $442.50. Might be another rodeo like yesterday which is always fun for active traders.Comment -

#13614Yesterday about a half hour before the close, the SPY did indeed visit the 442.50 spot I mentioned, it didn't close below, and of course started to bounce. Sure I sold a few of those longer term PUTS I got, but that is just a small profit taking operation as I suspect a little relief rally here. The QQQ's are in the same boat, but I didn't buy any calls for the SMH or IWM this time. I also got a few Calls for the XLF which is hanging out just above the 100 and 50 DMA, and it also happens to be the spot of a break out run from a couple of weeks ago so its worth a couple Call options. Most of these call options for the index funds I got expire next Friday, but I did also get a fair amount that expire this Friday. This is a good spot to jump in with an expected bounce because if the support is broken, I can just sell 'em back at a slight loss while the longer term Puts I have go to work for me.Comment -

Unless I am missing something PayPal is still the common thread for online merchant payments across platforms and leader for peer to peer transfers. Along with trading , banking and credit services their data alone will continue to generate increasing revenue. I know Apple is taking market share for touch payments but PayPal still has advantage of utilizing this specific sector as a one stop shop for financial services along with SoFi and Cash App. I think this is a washout of retail fervor and we will see some M&A and changing market conditions over the next year. we can still make 52 week highs before end of year as well unless this is a complete value trap.
did I get the call for a takeoff after earnings wrong? Yup!
Did we run up from $60 from when i made the call to $75 the week before earnings, yes as well.
I had Aug calls that went 5x, then crashed to zero after earnings.
I am in the corner of if you aren’t starting to do some shopping during this pause then you are doing a disservice and that includes adding more PayPal, many buying opportunities on quality stonksComment
