There is no left. There is only a far right, the party you claim if youre a republican. Fascists takeovers are nothing new. Being liberal has nothing to do with anything you mentioned, but the fascists have rebranded it and told you thats what being liberal or progressive means. Id be willing to bet most here would consider themselves liberal by the real definition of it.

Nice post. I see it differently though, I see the right as ultimately self-serving while the left serves the greater good. In the short term, being self serving is fine but ultimately it is unsustainable. The "left" is not just a bunch of hipsters that are on the receiving end of unemployment but also a lot of ultra rich entrepreneurs that talk the talk and walk the walk by giving away a large portion of their money.

I can't figure out how to engage someone who believes that every college student should be able to pick their school, classes, and teachers, and have the gov't pay for it, but thinks that allowing a high school student to do that would destroy America.

How do you talk to someone who believes that you shouldn't be able to invest part of your social security money in the stock market if you choose because it's a risky gamble, but has no problem with risking your entire paycheck gambling?

We all agree that businesses will go where it's cheaper to do business because it's easier to make a profit, but when people like me advocate making it cheaper by repealing taxes and regulations on business, we're told that has never worked in history, despite them arguing it works every time free trade is brought up and they're against it because it will send business overseas.

I don't think IKE would care to much about the wedge issues. As for letting our enemies in, your more likely to be attacked by a homegrown terrorist. So not really sure how IKE would handle that.
