#387I'm against all corporate welfare. I would like to see corporate welfare ended and the corporate tax go to 0%. All it does is transfer money from profitable companies to their less profitable competition. You expect me to believe you never found ways to cut costs when you were building those businesses? Even if it meant relocating?
Yeah, the dems front runners were people that were running on a platform of free stuff.
0
Companies leave because of costs being too high. Taxes, wages, and benefits are all costs. It is possible for a country (USA) to have higher wages and benefits than another (N. Korea), but not go to that country due to higher taxes (100%) and 0 property rights.
Moving overseas has costs, shipping around the world has costs, American workers are much more productive than Chinese workers.
It's funny, in Connecticut they decided to make the rich pay their fair share, hiked their taxes twice since 2011, and they've seen deficits blow up as the wealthy simply moved to a lower tax state. That is the idea we all agree with, people will put money is places where they will get more of it.
My boy was Gary Johnson.
Ok, now I get where you were getting the free stuff from, but I'm sure the conservatives in that bunch wanted
free tuition also which we all know isn't free.
Look, we can go at this forever. It never lasts long enough until a new recession comes along then we are right
back where we started. Corps dump their work force onto the govt, wait a few months then pick the best at
reduced wages. We are way overdue for a recession so be prepared. Save like hell and pay shit off.Comment -

#389What this group doesn't understand. Is that most people on some sort of govt dole is because their employer insert walmart, kroger or costco pay their employees shit. So they are on some sort of reduced rent or food stamp program. These same people voted for trump because some how by virtue of their voting for them than they became a WINNER. I know at least 3 white guys that live in subsidized housing with the hogs they knocked up. They won't marry the girl because they would lose their benefits. But somehow it is our fault they are working in a printing press company. IT IS SAD.
team and back again when their old team is winning. I call them bandwagoners. EVERYONE is a loser at sometime
just look at our forum. Losing keeps you humble. (except for someone who has mental issues like their president)Comment -

#390If there is a long-term future for humanity, these days will be looked back on
as the dark ages of enslavement to money for money's sake.
I don't care if you've got a Ph.D. in Economics, you can't change the fact
that God gave us this one and only world - and its produce does not come
with price tags attached. Deep in the heart of the black man and the lingering
subconscious of most Whites there is an ancestral memory of a life when time
went by slowly, the Earth could breathe and war did not mean nuclear annihilation.
If we only put 100% of our efforts into a higher purpose than "making money",
we could have free energy and more purposeful lives, eventually traversing the
wonderful universe which God gave us as a challenge.
Alas, the wrong people took over, and have created the illusion that we can't
stop their monsters from devouring us.Comment -

Get a sense of proportion. Much more liberals want this than people on the right.
Wages can go up over time even with recessions if you have a strong economy.
The reason those companies pay so low is the labor isn't worth that much. If we taught people useful skills in K-12 as opposed to blowoff classes we have now, they could get higher paying jobs right out of high school.Comment -

#402They are becoming automated around the world . Read up on the iphone factory in china.
And no they might not upgrade evrywhere. They simply will not do that here. Like I said, if I were in charge here. I would not put one dollar into any upgrades unless it was automated.
As for your last statement,,not so sure about that one. At least in the "me" now world we live in. Try and get a kid to do any manual labor in todays world. Good LuckComment -

I started out of high school working for a printing company making $1.65 an hour. 15 years later after moving up
the ladder I was making $12.09. Those were the good old days of getting raises as the cost of living went up.
When that company closed, I went to another printing company making $9. It took 20 years to get to $15.
What took so long to get to $15 was companies came up with industry hourly pricing standards which we have
today. While wages have been stagnant, the cost of living has skyrocketed. Minimum wage, keeping up with
inflation, should be over $25. Here we are stuck at $7.25. How do you defend that?Comment -

Agree. They don't give two fvcks about the average person. Which is why the idiot lower and middle classers who kissed Trump's ring on Election Day (the vast majority of this board) should be embarrassed for being so gullible. They committed suicide by voting for him.
funny thing here is there are a lot of delusional posters here..
All of them fit in this 90% but yet somehow believe they are gonna be rich or think they already are...
The fact is if anyone is working for someone or have a business but still have to pay 30% in overall taxes..

#411You liberal simpletons are simply defeatist. "oh the jobs will never cone back". They indeed will when we level the playing field.
Like Obama said what can we do, the jobs are leaving? At least Trump has the backs of working folks.
Those on the left should at least acknowledge they see no vision for jobs and the working middle class. Give Trump a chance he is winning at cutting regulation and soon taxes.Comment -

#414They will automate if it's cost effective. The thing is that automation costs a lot and might not pay off for years. Kids will do manual labor if the price is high enough, and if we taught them to build and program robots in high school rather than wasting time the way we do now, they could get those jobs.
Actually according to Pew research, minimum wage when adjusted for inflation was $3.51 an hour.
