#1402Too early in the game for that to be honest. In a market that's purely speculative (which we are not in) there would be more cause for concern. The common investor is just starting to get involved which can only help our cause. The type of crash we fear wouldn't come for another year and a half or soComment -

The precedents are split: for the BCH fork the most profitable move was to hold all the way through, but for the BTG fork you'd've been better off selling at 6000 just before the split, then buying your BTC back around 5500 over the next few days (and, if you wanted to bother with it, BTG tokens at Bitfinex for a hundred bucks.)
So let's root for irrational exuberance.Comment -

#1405Heh, cool Homer gif. That IS the question and the answer depends on the price. If the price keeps going crazy like it has been for the next two weeks, then the answer's easy: sell an hour before the fork at $8000 or whatever god forsaken price it gets driven to, then wait a couple days and buy more of both forks with your cash than you would've gotten for holding through the fork.

When I hear bubble, that implies an entity is being overbought or overpriced. I don't think that's the case. I sometimes use Bitcoin to purchase gift-cards. As I go around to the retailers...the comment I hear is "I've never seen that" or "we get that maybe once a year."
In other words, the Bitcoin usage is not being maxed out yet. Not even close. If u asked 100 people on the street, I still think 98 won't know what you're talking about.
I actually think the other direction. There's more room for growth. When the general public presses the demand more, this price still has room to go up.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#1425would have to hit atleast 12k before that happens.. most we'll see is market overreactions to forks with a drop of about 10%. but even then so, you'll see it correct itself within a few daysComment -

#1426Any nitrogen players with a running balance here? What do you plan to do for the fork?I find it very worrisome that if the b2x fork happens then there is a good possibility that one of the chains (1x or 2x) dies off. Even if this does not occur and the fork turns out to be just an "upgrade" I still think the uncertainty leading up to it makes it a better decision to be in fiat before it happens.I'm already aware of what exchanges like coinbase are doing for the fork and have no interest in keeping btc there.Anyone else think its prudent to xfer the btc to a fiat book like 5d or heritage?Comment -

#1428The situation is pretty simple now.... for the person that's not REALLY IN AT THE MOMENT... Bitcoin is so highly priced... you could get your ass lit up going in at the wrong time.
For the person that's been in it at around the 2200 mark... or even 3200... sh#$.... just ride the wave. Why the fuk would you get out?
So... I'm disappointed in myself for not trusting it.... and not getting involved in it... I got involved around the 4100 mark.... and sold at 4300. I can't trust this sh#$. Especially if you don't have $ to lose.
But we're at the point now.... it's deadly to get it..... you would chance 7000 for one coin at the moment? It could lose 1000 overnight... at anytime.
Just wondering if you guys think or feel the same way? It's almost a lost cause to even get involved anymore.Comment -

Nitro promised to distribute BCH from the August fork, but they haven't followed through on that promise, so who knows.Comment -

#1431Buying now's a rough proposition. I've been trading crypto for 3 years, so I'm an official war veteran, and my guess (and that's all anybody can do at these valuations) is 7k is a selling price, not a buying price, for BTC.
And I'm not a bear trying to rain on everybody's parade. Just a few days ago, I recommended buying BTC, but that was at a very different price: https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...heres-why.htmlComment -

And I'm perfectly happy to extend those sells to 9k if people really want to lose all grasp on reality before the fork.Comment -
