Make it covered. Zoo where I live you can just walk on a ground level wooded plank bridge, literally 18 inches below you are alligators, so easy to just reach and touch one or even fall in the water, I dont get it.

I agree with her that everyone is too quick to judge

Who cares human life especially children are more important then a gorilla seriously....if a mother is giving birth and its save the baby or mom the baby is saved...this is life guys who's at fault the zoo absolutely should make the exhibits 100 safe and should be checked daily but saving kid above all was right thing to do

I don't think you understand. He was more than just a grilla. He put smiles on kids faces and adults alike. He was just living his life until the kid jumped over on his own. He didn't deserve it man

I have to agree. It is sad the gorilla was killed, but it certainly would have killed that child if someone didn't do something. The media made it look like everything was fine and it was not.

as for this specific incident, the gorilla did swing the kid around a few times but also appeared to be protecting him in moments. personally, if i had to make the call, would've gone with multiple tranquilizers in the hope of saving both lives. had that not worked and infuriated the gorilla causing him to kill the kid, so be it. bottom line, zoos should have the obligation to work equally hard to save their own animals/captives lives.

Yea ok and then they would have killed the animal anyway........
