Peon schools like Cincinnati should not even be considered for Big 12 Entry. When was the last time Cincinnati won a Conference Championship outright? Not in this century. If Cincinnati cannot defeat the pushovers in the C-USA or the AAC, how are they suppose to defeat the likes of Oklahoma, Okie State, TCU, and other Big 12 schools? Homers should never post such trash about their school. It just makes them look dumber than they already are.

#72If the NCAA goes to "Super" Conferences, then they will go to a 4 conference 16 team per conference set up. There is no point taking a bunch of garbage teams like Cincinnati, UConn, Colorado State and others when there are so many garbage teams already in conferences. By going this route, they can also go to an 8 team playoff, with the 4 Conference Champs getting the top 4 seeds and the next 4 highest ranked teams filling out the 8 team playoff.Comment -

#8125 LGBT groups send letter to Big 12 urging it to shun BYU
A coalition of national LGBT advocacy groups is urging the Big 12 not to admit BYU as a new member, FOX Sports has learned.
On Monday, Athlete Ally, a non-profit that conducts LGBT awareness campaigns for sports leagues, and the National Center for Lesbian Rights, sent a letter to Big 12 administrators detailing what they believe are discriminatory policies by BYU, a religious institution owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In the letter addressed to commissioner Bob Bowlsby, the authors write in part: “BYU … actively and openly discriminates against its LGBT students and staff. It provides no protections for LGBT students … Given BYU’s homophobic, biphobic and transphobic policies and practices, BYU should not be rewarded with Big 12 membership.”
The letter is co-signed by 23 other national and regional advocacy groups, including GLAAD and National Organization for Women (NOW). In addition to Bowlsby, the conference’s 10 university presidents, athletic directors and other administrators were expected to be copied.
BYU students and faculty are expected to follow the school’s Honor Code, which includes a section addressing “Homosexual Behavior.” While “same-gender attraction” is not itself an Honor Code violation, taking part in a same-sex relationship is.
“Homosexual behavior is inappropriate and violates the Honor Code,” it reads. “Homosexual behavior includes not only sexual relations between members of the same sex, but all forms of physical intimacy that give expression to homosexual feelings.”

Cincinnati MAY be in the discussion if the Big 12 decides to go to 14 teams, but that is rather doubtful at this time. Cincinnati has poor to above average teams, but would just be automatic losses to teams like Oklahoma. By the way it is how much money you bring in and how much your fans support you. Houston doesn't bring anything to table because texas is already in the state. Cincy brings top market . fortune 500 and fortune 1000 companies. I know your salty that memphis isn't under consideration . Hell they just lost the only decent coach they have had . Uc brings all sports to table. Wish they got in so I could wear my earl campbell jersey at paul brown stadium. They would play them there just as they played o.s.u. and oklahoma. Why do schools consider the past? It is called back class! Funny memphis was in those shit conferences but never won shitComment -

#89You are crazy. You really should seek help immediately. Cincinnati has NEVER had any type of "Class" in college football at all. The City of Cincinnati has never had any type of "Class". Next, everyone in the nation knows that Texas wants Houston in the Big 12. Only a complete idiot would question that. Houston is IN. Don't give me any crap about "Top Market". The ONLY way Cincinnati gets in is if Oklahoma sides with them instead of BYU, who has a much better football program than Cincinnati ever has, but has issues with it's school policies and honor code regarding gays and lesbo's, as well as other issues. If OU decides that those issues are too much for the Big 12 to carry, then Cinci has a chance. If the decision is left to which school has the better football program, BYU wins by a mile. Either way, Cincinnati will be a .500 team or worse in the Big 12. By the way, congrats on your brilliant assumption that the University of Texas is in Texas. How stupid can you get?Comment -

#90ESPN's Brett McMurphy reports that Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby will hold video conferences regarding expansion with 17 teams.
McMurphy relays that the general lean at this time is that the conference won't expand to 14 teams. According to the Worldwide Leader's report, "The most likely scenario is that the Big 12 will stay at 10 teams or only add two schools for a 12-team league with two six-team divisions." Among the teams expected to make presentations to Bowlsby, Cincinnati, Houston, BYU, South Florida, UCF, UConn, Memphis, Colorado State, Boise State, Tulane, Temple, East Carolina, SMU, New Mexico and Northern Illinois.

#93ESPN and Fox not too excited about expansion. Texas is not excited. OU president wants it but major boosters do not.
Probably will expand because it means $7 million more per team but it is not sure thing.
Houston and BYU would work.
They are probably going to take Cincinnati though. I will be shocked if they do not get in. They will likely make the worst moves possible which would be Cincinnati and Memphis. Maybe Colorado State.
Nobody wants Houston. They are bluffing because of politics. They have all said Houston should be "considered." The gay stuff is now dragging down BYU.Comment -

#95It boils down to who Texas and Oklahoma really want. I think Texas really wants Houston because A&M and the SEC have really raped them and other Big 12 schools in recruiting in Texas. They cannot afford another school going off to another Power 5 Conference.
Oklahoma wants BYU because they easily have the best team amongst all of the Big 12 wanna-be's and will get the highest T.V. ratings amongst the teams praying for a Big 12 invite.Comment -

#97These cross country leagues are ruining college sports, WVU is on an island and should be in either the AAC, ACC, or SEC rather than the Big 12. If the Big 12 expands, it would probably be east IMO. What if the SEC takes Texas and OU, the Big 12 would be dodo. #98It's all about television markets. The Big 12 has the Texas market and adding Houston just makes them a Top 25 school to compete against. Nobody wants to bring back Phi Slamma Jamma or have Houston top step Texas Tech, Baylor and TCU. They regret putting TCU in the conference.
They think they can get a market in Ohio with Cincinnati. They think CSU can potentially bring the Denver market or at least they can claim it and then there is UConn in the East. That is all that matters.
ESPN has no say in any of this so they have to pay up top dollar for any crap team they add and they are not happy about it.Comment -

#99Hopefully, the Big 12 won’t make the same mistake twice.
In 2013, there was talk of expanding the Big 12, and the University of Louisville was rumored to be among the schools wanting to join the conference. But the Big 12 ultimately decided to take a pass on Louisville. It was a mistake magnified by the fact that the Cardinals’ football program went on to win the Sugar Bowl over Florida, the basketball team won a National Championship and its baseball team went to the College World Series.
The Big 12 now has another opportunity to expand its footprint into the region, this time via the University of Cincinnati, which is one of about nine schools vying for the opportunity to join the conference. The Big 12 is nearing a decision on whether to add two or four more teams before the start of the 2017 football season. University of Oklahoma President and Big 12 Chairman David Boren has said the conference will gauge each candidate by five criteria – strength of athletic program, fan base, media market, academic standards and reputation. UC stacks up very well against the competition and appears to be a near shoo-in if the Big 12 adds four. But we believe UC makes a strong case for why it should be the conference’s top choice in the expansion derby even if it only adds two teams.
First, UC provides a conference that is already “Texas heavy” an opportunity to expand its reach into Ohio’s football-crazy marketplace. UC would help bridge the geography gap between West Virginia and the rest of the Big 12 teams and reunite the two schools that once competed against one another in the Big East. The Big 12 would also benefit from the state’s 4.5 million television households and Cincinnati’s TV market, which is ranked 36th nationally, according to Nielsen. Only Texas – where four Big 12 schools are based – has more TV households among the states where the conference has members.
The Bearcat football program may not be as sterling as in the Brian Kelly days, but it has been solid over the past decade, averaging nine wins per season. In that span, the team has also made nine bowl game appearances and finished in the Top 25 three times. The basketball program has been equally competitive, winning 20-plus games every season since 2010-11 and earning five consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament.
Academically, UC is on par with other Big 12 schools. Of the nine candidates vying for Big 12 membership, UC ranks fourth in terms of academic performance (Connecticut, BYU and Colorado State rank higher). However, UC has by far the biggest endowment of any of the expansion hopefuls, and if the school was admitted into the Big 12, its endowment would currently rank fourth among schools in the conference.
When it comes to intangibles, trips to Cincinnati can offer Big 12 athletes and fans a unique culinary and cultural experience. Treats include our chili, Graeter’s, top-notch parks, a world-class zoo, unique arts venues and thriving neighborhoods with historic homes and breathtaking views.
By all these measures, UC would appear to be a prime choice for the Big 12. But politics is the wildcard and could be the biggest factor if UC ultimately fails to get an invitation. University of Texas President Greg Fenves and the state’s governor, Greg Abbott, began publicly lobbying for the University of Houston in mid-July. And BYU may be the most attractive candidate across the board, according to some reports, though the school’s LGBT policies should be cause for concern. Ohio Gov. John Kasich went to bat for UC last month, penning a letter to the Big 12 commissioner telling him UC would be “an outstanding choice” for expansion. The universities of Oklahoma and West Virginia have both said they favor UC.
If the Big 12, arguably the weakest of the “Power 5” conferences, wants to get stronger and not repeat past mistakes, then it needs to let UC in.Comment -
