#249Hey pal, don't post a lot here but read through the thread and wanted to offer a tip. Have you heard of MyVegas? It's a game on Facebook sponsored by MGM where you collect and use chips to play slot games. As you play the slots they give you loyalty points that can be redeemed for real comps like food and drinks at the MGM properties. If you are just sitting around with a computer in front of you, keep the game spinning slots in the background and you can rack up enough points to get a decent sized food credit somewhere. Game doesn't cost anything but your time and could help you stretch your food budget a bit. Caesars has a program too called social rewards that you can post their promos on Facebook or twitter to receive points to redeem for comps at their properties too. Best of luck.Comment -

#250Somewhere in these forums I'm sure I have posted before hat I have never dropped a coin in a slot machine.
You're right though, if I were just sittin' around, it's good for comps but I don't play slots & never bought a lottery ticket.
Thanx for the advice though.

#251I have that 2 game parlay with St. Mary's ML & Clips ML
$20 pays $39.
So I go to the wicket to ask for the Clips 2nd 1/2 line.
The guy says SAC +7
I instantly said "Gimme $23 on Sac +7.
This was an obvious hedge right?

#252There is no gambling or any kind of risk on your part...they just have slots mini games that you use to get the loyalty points. I am the same way, i would never park my ass in a casino and waste real coin on slots. I found the game about 6 weeks ago and have enough of these loyalty points to get $250 of real comps I will be using on April. There is really no downside, and isn't gambling that would take away from your roll. MGM just created this game to get ppl to play for the comps so they make a trip to their casinos to spend money, but it can be taken advantage of just to profit from the comp. all you do is redeem for a certain comp and link it to your Mlife card and you are good to go. They offer a $50 dining credit at Monte Carlo that could probably be achieved in a couple weeks if you play the game on the side. Not pushing anything on you buddy, just hoping to make life a bit easier and maybe get you away from McDonald's for a few meals!Comment -

#253Not that drunk!
Yes it was.
If SAC loses by 1,2,3 or 4 I cash both tickets.
If SAC loses by 6 or more, I lose my hedge.
If SAC wins outright I win my hedge but lose the parlay.
If SAC loses by 5 I win the parlay & push the hedge.
Need another Crown & Pepsi!!!

#259After collecting some chips for the slots, I can set it on autospin and it will play by itself in the background. I just check that window every couple minutes and reset the spinning when it stops for the bonus spins that pop up. So I have the game running at work and then on my laptop at home for 4-5 hours a day, but am only actually devoting maybe 15 or 20 minutes to making the game run. For anyone that has some time on the computer and wants to rack up some comps, it is a pretty legit deal right now.Comment -

#262Great thread. If you're trying to make this last I would check out rooms/shared on craigslist. Has to be a better alternative then paying over $1000 a month in hotel expenses. Maybe you can get paid to donate plasma too if you're desperate. I'm hopefully going to attempt this someday, but I'm not going without $5000 and a comfy ride to live in part-time if need be. Have you gone down to Fremont St. yet? Luckey's sportsbook at the Plaza is the best downtown in my oponion but it's been a few years. Cheaper rooms I'm sure too. I stayed at the 4 queens a few years ago. $25 a night? $2 dollar mimimum roulette. Just bet the outside and double up if you lose. Almost 50/50 chance. Surely you can grind out a few dollars that way. Be careful though, the game has the potential to cause lunacy and things can go bad if you get greedy and don't take a walk when you're up or down too much. LOL gl buddyComment -

Sharing a room or renting one from someone? Although craiglists wouldn't be my choice of places to look as long you trust that person not to rob you or some shit like that not a problem once you get out of backwards west Texas and the phobia that the prerequisite expectation in sharing space with someone of the same sex requires you to engage in passionate homosexual love making.
Selling plasma? Get paid to help out people. Can't get any better than that...
And sleeping in car isn't that bad versus overpaying for some dumping hotel room. Although it might be a sign that you might need to make some life changes if you forced to do it long term I can't see anything wrong with doing it for a couple nights which I've personally more than once on various road trips.
Strange you cut out his only obvious mistake from his post (thinking you can successfully grind a sucker's game like roulette)...Comment -

#272First a depressing poker room story. I bought in for $45 at the $2-$6 flex game just to try and make my hours for the $18,000.00 free roll on the 31st and I sit down into a MONSTER. I get jacks under the gun and flop J 10 2, the turns an eight and it has already been raised 4 times. When the river comes a brick I bet out and get raised again and the 3rd player who was a blind folds I come back over top and so does she and I am already all in for $4 more, I know she has pocket vowels, she turns them over & Jay's looking good. Then this huge guy sis in and after not winning for about 3-4 rounds of the puck I get to limp with my pocket 3's and the flop comes A 3 2. I throw out the max he raises I re-raise & he calls, the turn comes a 4. I bet the max & he just calls. While the hand is being played he tells me that he played for my favourite CFL team back in the 70's the BC Lions. Really nice man. When the river comes a 4 I bet he raises, I re-raise and he puts me all in and rolls over a-4.
Only logged 2 hours at the table & got up walked over to him told him, "good hand" he apologized & said I played it right but he knew what I was talking about when I asked the dealer not to pair up the board after the river. I just had a feeling. I asked him his name he said Joe & told him good luck & here I am in the soprts book again, wondering where's the luck?
Now to address some of the comments made here today. I guess the bottom line is we would all be doing things differently if we had the choice. The guys who would make their run with $5,000 think the guys with $2,700 are donks and the wealthy think that the guys with $5,000 are broke ass mother fukkers!
I get it. If we had choices we would do it all different, but I was cleaning toilets a month ago and I'd have to clean 12,000 more to come here with a huger BR, but like I've said before, "It is what it is."
I am going to look into the MGM slots play for comps, provided the chips get replenished every day if you go tapped.
MoneyDawg, as usually is probably right.
I don't want to live with anyone from Craig's List, if I'm gonna do this I'm gonna do it on my own. Besides, someone mentioned that the trust factor, in that case would be key & I don't trust anyone.
If you're rolling as hot as D2D, there's not doubt you'd be down here with $5,000+.
Pick me some winners B.C. & I won't have to worry anymore!!!!!!
I don't know when the last time Kraken was here but, there is no more IP. It's the Quad now & is not $20 a night.
Are you here yet Herbie?
I'd love to hook up sometime if you can find the time. I'm gonna spend today lamenting over my horrible poker beat & study the bracket.
LMK.
As I said, I am doing this on my own but, only someone whose too proud would decline advice from someone who clearly has more experience than them.
As for my plans. I am checking out of the Hotel Suites of America on Friday & I intend to sit in the poker room\sports book as long as I can, then check into Terribles for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.
Thanks also to whomever told me that I could get an online rate at Terrible's for $20. I spoke to a lackey at the front desk & he told me to come by after 5:00 today & talk to Mike, who would likely give me the online rate even if I am using plastic.
After Wednesday I am going to check into the Americana which is on Harmon which is much closer to the strip fir $189 a week. Free Long Distance too!
Thanks for following and let's all hit this Bracket today for some big cashes.Comment -

#273JV im not a gamer by any stretch but i get hooked on this stuff because im interested in how some of these places conduct their business and the business of comps fascinates me....so i've figured a few things out...
1) you CAN run out chips but you really can replenish easier than i thought...it appears that each day on facebook there is a link for 1000 more chips and from what i can tell initially the links are unique and dont expire...so you can go on facebook and click a new link if you run out...im about 10-15% of the way to my first small comp so im making progress...im going out in april and staying at man bay and there is a comp for two tickets to moorea beach club ($80 value) so if i can get that without much effort, why not? frankly id probably be hooked on the game anyway...its replaced some stupid mobile mlb game im playing while im on the shitter
2) this is more important for you being in vegas...worth a shot anyway....i assume you have a smart phone? if so you can use it and download the mobile app for this game (viva myvegas) and it appears that you can check in (on facebook maybe? i cant tell yet) and get prizes....some have to do with the game and some are comps...i saw this one on here so i assume if you have a smart phone you might as well try it
