I know I will be chastised for saying this but why are you drinking EVERYDAY if you trying to stretch your stay? Why MUST you drink? Either you are trying to go for 6 months or having as much fun, drinking and partying as you can with your starting BR.

I did something to this nature a couple of yrs ago in Vegas and lasted for a couple months, but I'll tell you eventually the grind will get to you especially if your partying on a routinely basis. When your in Vegas with no job and are just gambling every day is a Saturday night. With all that being said this is an awesome thread and I hope you make it all work out!Comment -
Yeah, well....points are well taken. I am aware that I can't kill my liver every night & not only from a health perspective but, from a financial & gambling stance, I can't sustain while tanked. I tried to make it clear that because Coop is here with me for three days I am kinda having fun. He leaves back for Toronto in 7 hours.
I certainly do not intend to drink every day I am here all day & night long but, I am a drinker & can get outta hand easily.
Especially now that I am learning which books have the best beverage comps.
I remember when I came to Vegas for the 1st & 2nd time all you had to do was be sitting in the sportsbook with a $5 ticket & you could get served 5-6 times an hour. Now nearly everywhere uses the drink ticket method. Like the Wynn says you have to bet $10 on horse races to get one drink ticket or $200 on a game to get one drink ticket.
Even then it appears that it frowned upon at the Wynn when you ask for a drink ticket with a $10 show bet.
Even crazier the Venitan requires you to bet $50 in the race book or $500 in the sports book to get one.
So for the bargain basement price of only $1,000.00 you can have 2 waters at the Venitan. That's right I said waters.
I don't want to give any of my money to Sheldon Adleson anyway. The only reason I went there in the 1st place is because Coop likes the poker room there. I am at the Bellagio right now where they only want you to bet $5 in the racebook or $50 in the sports book to get a ticket & in fact, they offer me a drink ticket everytime I''m at the betting counter. I really like it here & I'm not losing ANY bets yet.

Yesterday I got in some banked hours at the Monte Carlo. Approx. 6-7 hours. I think I am gonna have enough hours by March 31st to play in that $18,000.00 freeroll.
I used $100 BR yesterday & again, I am using more than I should because Coop is here & he's here to have fun. I lost the $100 at the $2-$6 flex game at the ** then he lent me $20 to bet on the Cuse.
Now I'm down $120 & it's not even the afternoon here yet! He lends me $100 more and I hit the flex game again and win $305.
Pay back Coop the $120 I owe him & am up $85. Sadly the liquor started flowing again & somehow I donked away $85 mostly tipping and small sportsbook bets, and we stumble into the Flamingo. There pole dancers & dealers in lengerie. I lay $50 on RED where I see the previous 12 spins were black & it comes Black. I bet my last $50 on, you guessed it RED again and the balls comes to rest on the 20.
Now I'm broke again. Coop paid for he rest of my drinks for the rest of the night which we spent at the Wynn.
Met a really nice couple, can remember where they were from or what the did, in fact I don't really remember anything that the 4 of us talked about but, they were nice.
I'll do a Balance update later but right now I am up $34 with that $10 parlay ticket & I Have 9 drink tickets sitting in front of me!
And Coop, well...he's having the nuts laid to him in the Poker Room!

Well done, an exciting read! Worst case scenario, you are taking a chance that many here wish we could. If it weren't for my wife/son, I would love to take a roll to Vegas and last as long as I could there.

39? Wow, when you said your dad paid for your plane ticket I figured maybe early 20s. But I'm not knocking it. I'm 32 and if I didn't have a kid and wife I'd do the exact same thing. Or so I tell myself I would. In reality a lot of guys would say they would, but very few have the balls to actually go through with it, especially on such a tight budget. Speaking of Coop, he's been up $40 down $40 hasn't veered from that for the past 3-4 hours. I went to see how he was doing and he flashed me his A-4c under the gun. Got 2 callers pre-flop when it came 3c Qc 2d. He bet out got one caller. Then the turn came Kh, he bet out out again got called again & the river came 5c!
He bet the river and the guy called then the guy mucked quickly. Coops at the $20-$40 limit game. He's happy now & we're gonna watch the Thunder crush the Mavs!!!!Comment -
