Zero chance he comes to Vancouver. They are taking a hard look at Eakins. They are going to try and find the next Dan Bylsma. Gillis can not bring in a coach that lasts 2 years like a Torts would, that would be the end of his tenure.

His antics make him absolutely the worst coach in the league. He is a distraction, nothing more and maybe a lot less. No matter what he says about 'protecting his guys' it is a crock. He needs o be the centre of attention. I hope nobody signs him to any media panel in Canada, he is the most useless 'opinion guy' I have heard.

His style is unflapping and he cannot make adjustments long term, let alone during a game. I am not sure what his players think of him, because I don't listen to that stuff in the media but I am guessing they have a hard time relating to him.

Vancouver would hire a nobody in hoping to find a diamond in the rough? I don't see it to be honest, time is running out on the Sedin's and that team is absolutely fukked without them. Fans are pissed off and the time is now.

I am willing to bet straight up with anyone that their new hire will have NO NHL experience. No matter where they are I their 'life cycle' Gillis has said he is only looking long term. The only guy I could see here that has any experience is Ruff, but I don't think he is the right fit and I doubt Gillis will either.

I'm pretty sure the next Vancouver coach is going to be either Dave tippet or Lindy Ruff, but I think Tippet has the best chance even though hes currently coaching for PHX.

I doubt Tippet is leaving. They just signed their GM to an extension, ownership is being sorted out. Hard to fail when the NHL is pushing hard for your team. I doubt Doan would have resigned if he thought Tippet would be out.

Yeah i dont see him leaving either if a deal is made, but like the last 4 "done deals" they all fell through.

Yeah, the last guy fukked that up bad and sounds like he never could get the money together. However, the fact that the team isn't in Ontario tells you something. The league most definitely wants hockey to stay in the desert. When Bettman's machine is behind your team, good things will happen. However, now they have to deal with a pissed off city of Glendale that isn't going to give out anymore sweet heart deals on the arena lease. I'm going to miss the free parking.
