Which Backup NFL QB is most deserving of a starting job?
I could say one guy but I'm not going to because I've said his name enough on the forum this month and, more importantly, I think there are two guys that deserve a starting job before he gets it. The guy who I think deserves it the most though is Shaun Hill. After Alex Smith got hurt Hill won the last few games at QB for the Niners.

Honorable mention goes to Matt Moore in Carolina.

I agree with ya here dio...I am a die-hard Niner fan and loved what Hill was able to do once Smith was out. He showed he has potential and he is supposedly battling Smith for the starting job come pre-season but I doubt he really has a shot with as much as they have invested in Smith. Of course if Smith improves from the numbers he put up a couple years ago then there will be no complaints for me...hopefully he can put together some solid games now that his job will be in jeopardy.

I agree. Sage Rosenfel has look good, when he's had the opportunity. He will start camp as the #2 QB, but he will have a chance to be #1 if continues to play well. And if Matt Schaub gets hurt or plays poorly, he will get the starting position.

It's nice for the Texans to have 2 solid QB's right now,
after 4 years of: David "you-suck-ass" Car.

          Man, I'm glad he's gone!

            Matt Cassel.

To be honest though, there really aren't that much good starting QB's in the league right now, let alone back-ups. Troy Smith I guess deserves a shot, but he'll be a mediocre starter at best. Boller is better, and Flacco is the best on the roster for Baltimore.
