Just look back to last year when they played in the conference championship game. Vikings were the superior team. If it wasn't for luck (turnovers) and the NFL rigging the game in order to help out the economy in a struggling city, Minnesota wins that game by 21+. Favre was better than Brees - WAS... Favre's prime has come and gone, this you can't dispute... meanwhile Brees, comming off a SuperBowl victory, is in his prime and is absolutely ridiculous in the passing game. I personally know the names of 4 different receiver that I would have never otherwise heard of had it not been for Brees. Favre on the other hand, is still Favre.... a master of the game, but far from what he once was.

Now Brees has more upside and has the potential to be greater than Favre in the grand scheme of things, but that'll be a tough one.

If you are nervous about this bet, I have advice for anyone that wants a little extra insurance. Make a $100 bet to win $200 on the Vikings winning. Then make a $110 bet for Minnesota to cover the spread. That way, even if Minnesota loses by a lucky field goal, you still break even. But they won't lose so you are basically trippleing your money. ditto, plus the vikings are not as strong at WR now than they were last year. I know great QBs like Farve and brees can make completions to any mediocre receiver, but you have to give some respect to the super bowl champs in their own house. I think the only way the saints lose will be because of distractions (partying hard, reggie bush fiasco, opening day, etc)

Favre's prime has come and gone???? Yet he threw 33 TDs to 7 int. last year, not to mention last year was his best year statistically of his career. Favre has played in 2 of the last 3 NFC Championship games, but he is past his prime. To say Favre is far from what he once was means that not only did you not watch any NFL last year, but you clearly have no grasp of the game. I like Brees too, but to count out Favre is a big mistake, you probably lost a lot betting against him.
