    MNF: Take Den -2
Since a discussion about Monday Night Football is inevitable, I thought I'd toss out my opinion--I'm on Denver -2. One of my favorite systems is Home Cookin'. Basically, take a small NFL home favorite of -3 or less, provided they won their last game by 7 or more. Denver qualifies as did Houston -1.5 yesterday (winner). System is well over 60% the past 30 years. Research it for yourself.

    Go Broncos!

i like denver -2.5 (don't see the reason taking it at -2 versus -2.5)

the one uneasy part is that every sports gambling forum say titans ml...this one, thrx, and bunch of other sites. however espn is saying denver. all my friends are saying titans ml.

i have no clue here, but i like denver today, so i am going to take denver -2.5

If the juice is the same, why wouldn't you want -2 vs 2.5? Line is actually 1.5 most places now.

I still don't understand why the Broncos are the favorites. They're absolutely terrible. I'll either take Titans ML or just forget about this game.

White is banged up, Young can't throw, and the defense can't stop the run. Titans will struggle against Denver's run. The high altitude will also wear them down 2nd half and Denver will put enough points for the win.

But that difference in oxygen levels matters a lot more to athletes engaged in intensely aerobic sports such as running and bicycling than it does to football players. In long-distance sports, reduced oxygen levels can strain the heart and lungs as they work harder and harder to get enough oxygen to energy-starved muscles.

Football is what exercise specialists call an anaerobic activity. Power is what's needed, and that comes from the glucose and other substances stashed in the body.

''In football, you have a burst of energy for 10 to 30 seconds, and then you have a break," said Dr. Arnie Scheller, a sports medicine specialist at New England Baptist Hospital and, for nearly two decades, team physician for the Boston Celtics. ''If you didn't have the recovery time, then the Denver team would definitely be at an advantage."

Even though 5,000 feet sounds pretty high for those accustomed to living in a place where altitude above sea level is measured in 10- or 20-feet increments, the truth is, people have to get quite a bit higher before worrying about serious health consequences.

''At 5,000 feet there's no question you can get a little short-winded. But these are tough guys and focused guys, so I think the likelihood of it making a difference is not that great," said Dr. Arthur Day, director of the Neurological Sports Injury Center at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Everyone is betting the Titans right now. Den -1 +100 is available. I almost feel like taking it. Might have to pull a fade the public here....just for the hell of it.

This is opposite of what I've heard from 2 sources. A doctor and a masters level physiology teacher. They both told me that there is a chemical produced in the body when you stay at high altitudes for a length of time. I think it was a couple weeks. This chemical is produced in order to adapt to the lack of oxygen. It allows the blood cells to carry more oxygen or something like that. This means that at high altitudes teams like the broncos function normally whereas low altitude teams function at a lower level when they are at higher altitudes. When the broncos return to low altitude this chemical remains but with the extra oxygen it makes them function at a higher level than normal people do. They told me the broncos have an advantage at any altitude vs. a team who's players are from lower altitudes. It is a physiological fact. This makes sense too because the broncos year in and year out are overachievers compared to their personnel. See the 50 great running backs they had in a row who each had like 10,000 yards in a season. Olandis Gary was like the 4th string running back at Georgia then he goes to Denver and becomes OJ.

There are pro athletes who are now sleeping in tents that are low in oxygen so their bodies will produce this chemical that allows them to be almost superhuman.

When the line is a pk before the game and you win by 2 TD's I call it a blow out win. Especially when you win these nice adjusted spreads
