In most books u can buy points so we bought half a point which changes the cap but we get worse odds, for example -6.5 was 1.96 and I bought the hook to make it -7 now it's at 1.81.

Buying the half point. Like 7.5 to 7 so you don't lose by the hook. The half points that arent whole numbers are called "hooks"

Yeah I really liked the notre dame game too... veryyy tempted to take it but I'm trying to keep to a low number of bets, specially thru the week. I think Ok state is the better play, and apparently alot of other people in here feel the same way which gives me comfort haha.
