Preseason Top 25 Rankings

Here is my honest take on Washington. But please I might be wrong because I dont know every single team in detail and I do forget about so and so being on the team and certain details about players. I am pretty sure Washington returns Abdul Gaddy a rather crafty player not the best all around player but combine him with there highly touted Terrence Ross who will be a Sophomore this year and fellow incoming freshmen Tony Wrotten Jr the ESPNU 100 #5 PG in the country this team could fight real hard. They have a very very intersting class of freshmen coming this year I will say that. If these kids can mold together I can see a lot of good things happening actually. But I would actually take interest in seeing what Washington vs Stanford is like. Stanford is on the rise in the PAC 12 now and Washington is small slump. I dont no what the PAC 12 schedule looks like or when they even play eachother but if Washington can take care of Stanford ill give them a lot more leeway. The Leader of the team will be Abdul Gaddy IMO. But Terrence Ross is gonna take a lot of pressure also to lead. I seem to see flashes of Abdul Gaddy being the Kemba Walker of this Washington Team and leading all the freshmen. I do expect to see a lot of freshmen play .

They have a solid freshmen class and have the ability to make the NCAAs but it depends if these kids can step up early

game I am looking forward to in the ACC this season is going to be

Miami vs Virginia.

Miami is in trouble right now with injuries and Virginia is a monster sleeper in the ACC looking to go to the Dance this March. That program is on the rise. I can see Virginia doing major damage in the coming years

But hey, no need to be jealous. State had their brief glory years with Bird. Just be glad you had something. Kind of like Purdue, just be happy that we allowed you guys to have the spotlight for a few years. No need to be jealous, from here on out, 2nd best in the state will always be open for one of you.

Its funny how every year Wisconsin flies under the radar....no respect shown to them or Bo Ryan to them at all, but they seem to end up the sweet sixteen or elite 8 despite never being ranked and never getting any respect.

Gonna make a witty and degrading comment about your ratings at first glance. Then I see the part where Arizona was overlooked, and needs to be part of the discussion.

I am a big time College bball nut. I spend 90% of all my time online, on basketball recruiting forums, etc. The other 10% is sportsbooking.

I am westcoast biased, because I live out here, and love PAC basketball. But there is no question the west isn't currently a big time player. I think Sean down there in Arizona and the talent Howland is luckily coming across for UCLA will put this coast back on the relevance map, no later than the end of this year, and for sure by the time the 2012 kids get onto campus.

I look forward to following this thread, and having discussion with people as well versed in the nuances of college basketball. (for my money, its the best one out there).

I really think Kansas is in for a horrific year, by their standards.

Well not sure if you went through the entire thread I have updated and changed the rankings a few times. They will be changed atleast 3 more times before the season starts. Michigan State will be moving for sure but still looking around for other changes. Im Big 10 biased because I grew up in the midwest but live on the west coast now so I keep up well with West Coast ball now. Arizona will be good and UCLA is gonna be bouncing back IMO this year. As far as Kansas goes If I have them ranked its just because of their name . This can easily be a down year for them

I rate Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan St., Wisconsin, Minnesota and Indiana higher than Illinois in the big ten this year. They lost a lot of talent last year and have NOOO depth.

Indiana is going to be solid. Zeller will add that big man presence they were lacking and they have some experience under their belt. They don't need a big man to score a lot of points just a body to get boards and guard someone on the block. Pritchard was their only true big man last year and he is just under sized.

Lamont Jones has a good shot to be deemed eligible. He has family in New York the reason he left Arizona supposedly is because he has a family member with a severe illness and he wants to be closer to home. The decision is supposed to come out in the next few days.

Ok guys so I just recently took a look at the National Rankings that have been released so far and my rankings are pretty similar but way different in a lot of spots. These rankings will change though again. But Would like to state that to many guys were high on Louisville early at the start of this thread and they are ranked 12th in the poll im looking and and I have them at the 11 spot. And Im not making any of this up because just look at the post date of when I made these rankings. I also have Xavier at the #9 spot currently but im gonna be shifting things a bit and they are doubled at the 18th spot currently. No big deal though. I have UCLA dead on at the #20 spot as they are ranked 20th also in the National Poll. As far as Vanderbilt goes I just have no love for this team what so ever and they are at the #4 spot in the National Poll. Michigan though is ranked 7th in the National Poll im pretty sure I had them ranked at one point but they are a hard team to project. Ill think more about them. I think in my Big10 Write up I have them near the top in the Big 10. Washington is placed at the #15 spot and in my most recent poll I dont have them ranked but that is ok because I also did a considerable write up on Washington in this thread stating they should be a NCAA team. A big question mark for Arizona at the #22 spot in the National Poll.......Pollsters apparently thinking in my brain wondering what this team will do. Loaded with talent. I wish I could see a Louisville vs Arizona match on a neutral site. Would love to Watch Arizona give Ville a beat down. Butler is at the #24 spot and yes I have them at the #16 spot clearly over ranked for a PRESEASON POLL. I am pretty sure they will rise though. Would be hysterical to see Butler take Ville down this year probably not gonna happen though. And the sleeper in the poll is Creighton at the #23 spot I dont have Creighton ranked because I wasnt quite sure of their roster. Every poll has that one sleeper team though so this is a legit sleeper team either way even though they wont be ranked on the final preseason poll. I have Memphis at the #6 spot instead of Vanderbilt. In the 4th-6th place rankings its jumbled with one team that you think in your oppinion is the better team and I have more love for Memphis then Vanderbilt.
I do not like seeing California ranked they are more talented this year but im not sure they are a worthy ranked team.

15.Vanderbilt------ I dont believe in this team and they will choke again
16.Butler---------- Marshall will be expected to do a lot but Nored will be in Charge
17.Florida St------Im wondering what Antwan Space will do
18.Temple------- The Owls will be powerful competing with Xavier

20.UCLA---------- This team is gonna suprise a lot of people that is all im gonna say
21.Arizona------ This team is looking for a National Championship in its future. ZONA basketball is back in session.

wow so I just took a look at the coaches poll in the Big12 and somehow Oklahoma St. was picked to finish 7th and Kansas was picked to win the league again........ Tied with Texas A@M though who was also picked to win the league I find that rather interesting. Texas A@M should rightfully be picked to win that League Kansas should be placed 5th or 6th not 1st. But Im making room for Oklahoma St. In my newest Rankings coming out shortly.
