I have been lining up my Saturday and I just can't ignore a teaser that looks so good I want to go all-in on it (but won't).
UNC -.5 / Xavier +11
UNC's ATS Records are mind-boggling:
-11-0 versus good defensive teams allowing <=64 points/game
-20-6 versus teams w/ a winning record
-3-0 in the NCAA tourney
-14-1 in non-conf games
-22-10 overall
It's ridiculous. I have the game lined at UNC -5, Sagarin has it at UNC -6, Statfox at -7, but with UNC's ATS record and what they have done the last two games (and being in Charlotte) I think those are conservative lines. Simply put, I AM TRYING TO FIND A REASON NOT TO TAKE UNC AND I CAN'T. The Heels are on a different plane right now and this game is practically a home game.
As for Xavier, they have a huge advantage ATS over UCLA. When UCLA wins SU, it has almost ALWAYS been by less than 10 pts. Now they are facing a hot Xavier team who is miles better than WKU was.
I like this: after one or less day's rest Xavier is 3-1 ATS while UCLA is 4-6. In non-conf games, Xavier is 10-4 ATS while UCLA is 7-6. UCLA is 1-4 ATS in the last five while Xavier is 3-2.
The tease may lose, but I think the chances are less than 20% that it will.
