San Jose St. is getting 6 points at home against Lou. Tech. This is Tech's best start in like 30 years and they are a very good team. The public has made good money this year betting on Tech, but I think their luck runs out tonight. San Jose is a good enough team, especially at home, to cover and maybe get a SU win. Lou. Tech is very capable of blowing out San Jose St., but I think the Spartans stay within the number. BTW U good looking out on the Clippers last night.

Seton Hall is a tough place to play, especially for a struggling Louisville squad who has posted a 2-3 record on the road so far this year. Seton Hall is only 1-4 in Big East play and I think this is a must win for the Pirates.

Any thoughts on Indiana +10.5? PSU lost 5 in a row but Indiana hasnt played well on the road 0-2. I think they should be able to keep it close

At first look I like IU. But the problem I have with this games is 69% of bets are on IU and the line moved from +9 to +10. The line should be moving the other way. I looked at recent matchups between the two and it really doesn't show much. Due to this line movement, I don't think I can take IU. I am going to watch the lines and see what happens, but as of right now probably no play. I am leaning Arkansas and USC, still going to look at a couple things.

I have a strong lean towards SD. 70% on St. Mary's and the line has dropped a half point. Plus it seems that SD plays them tough. Going to watch the line and see what happens, but SD seems like the right side. GL

Funny I just pulled trigger on my book after reviewing the line movement breakdown for the day..I think S.D is a safe bet..Glad to know you feel the same on this one..

I am terrible on NBA totals, like the Nuggets -10 though. Washington/UCLA over 146 looks good. I could see it hitting 150. GL

I have been watching the lines on NM St. I looked at everything on that game. Hawaii has a far superior defense but past matchups favor NM St. I am leaning Hawaii, but I am going to wait till later to make a decision. 52% on UL-Laffayette, so this movement is normal. I thought I heard that New Orleans is moving to D-3 after this year, so I am probably going to stay away. That kind of news could be motivation or devastation in the minds of those players. GL

Board approves move to Division III for UNO

                                                    By James Varney, The Times-Picayune

                                                    December 12, 2009, 1:37AM

BATON ROUGE -- The LSU Board of Supervisors approved a proposal Friday from UNO to move its athletic program from NCAA Division I to Division III.
The shift, which could take as long as four years to complete, was portrayed by Chancellor Tim Ryan as the school's only real shot at keeping athletics a viable part of university life.
Faced with declining enrollment -- UNO had 17,300 students when Hurricane Katrina hit and 11,700 this semester -- and budget cuts, a step down in classification is required, Ryan argued.
"I am convinced the only way we can maintain an athletic program at the University of New Orleans is with Division III, " Ryan concluded. "We believe that fits the academic mission of the university best."
UNO has had competitive teams in various sports, and before LSU's rise to prominence in baseball, the Privateers had a brief stretch in which they were the only Louisiana team to qualify for the College World Series.
But despite that intermittent success, and a local body of alumni that Ryan estimated could number 50,000 or more post-Katrina, UNO has never managed to draw large crowds.
"The athletic program is not supported by the student body or the community at large, " Ryan said, adding that he was mystified by UNO sports' lack of allure.
UNO charges students a fee of $100 per semester to support athletics, and the student body voted against an increase in that fee last April. Faced with dwindling numbers of students, widespread storm damage to facilities and state imposed budget cuts, the parameters of Division I sports -- with its fast-rising coaching salaries, travel budgets and the like -- are too expensive, Ryan said.
The current athletic revenues at UNO are $3.8 million, and to add the six sports the school would need to maintain Division I status (the NCAA has granted UNO a temporary waiver on that due to Katrina) would cost a minimum of $600,000. Ryan said debt service adds another $550,000 a year, and thus the Privateers are looking at an annual hole close to $3 million.
With the 11-1 vote in favor of the change in classification, UNO will now begin the process of leaving the Sun Belt Conference and a gradual move toward fielding teams with no scholarship players as required by Division III. All current scholarships will be honored by UNO, Ryan said, but a quicker move from Division I will give student-athletes a better shot at lining up scholarships at other schools.
All told, the shift may take as long as four years before it is completed. In that stretch, UNO will be able to play teams in any division but will not be eligible for championships.

I remember RLM on a Hawaii game sometime possibly in Nov. I thought it was against New Mexico but can't seem to find the odds for some of Hawaii's home games to track the line movements and confirm. Either way, Hawaii is 2-9 ATS at home the last 11 and 3-13 in last 16 overall. I had my lean going towards Hawaii but NM St just is a better team overall with wins over Fresno St, Utah St, and Idaho (WAC comparisons) whom Hawaii is 0-3 combined this year. IMO its NM St or stay away. I'm still deciding.
