Needing a win to keep their NCAA hopes alive, back the Purdue Boilermakers this evening at home versus the Indiana Hoosiers.

Fool me once, Indiana, shame on you. Fool me twice...well, you know how that goes.

I backed Indiana giving 6½ points to Illinois on Saturday, and watched as the Hoosiers could only manage a four-point win. Dang.

As for Purdue, I dissed them a couple weeks back, claiming Michigan St. would come into their house and give the Boilers a good game; suffice it to say that when Purdue cleaned the Spartans' clock to the tune of 62-38, I'd learned my lesson.

So my attention turns to Thursday night's game between these two teams, a makeup of the snowed-out affair from Wednesday. The Boilermakers are hanging onto NCAA dreams with the last few molecules of their fingernails, and without question, they'll need to top the Hoosiers in this one. Purdue has home wins this year against Oklahoma, Virginia, Michigan St. and Missouri, while Indiana is just 2-5 straight up on the road, losing their last two road matchups in the Big Ten to Illinois and Iowa.

Most interesting of all in this matchup is that whenever Indiana has struggled this season, it's been against teams that create a lot of turnovers, and Purdue is the best team in the Big Ten at forcing turnovers. Home is where the snow is, and I see Carl Landry having a big game in this one. Indiana's already in the Big Dance, and Purdue is still a long ways away; that and the harum-scarum defense they'll thrust on the Hoosiers Thursday are enough for me. Take Purdue.

    Play: Purdue -2½
