    Nebraska -2
Nebraska has lost 3 straight and if there ever was a MUST WIN game for a team... well I would point to this one. Nebraska which was once picked to get a #4 seed in the tournament has now played their way OUT of the tournament losing 3 straight and 5 of the last 7.

Nebraska is tough at home. They had a 20 game win streak... but have lost the last 2 at home. The first was to Michigan State.... which is kind of expected. MSt is damn good. The loss to Ohio State was a shocker. The Huskers were a 7 point favorite and led by 7 in the first half before falling behind by 5 at the half. They battled back in the second half to take the lead but then Ohio State made some unbelievable 3 point shots as the shot clock was about to expire..... 4 possessions in a row! That broke the back of the Huskers and they didnt recover.

I think they get things right tonight.

    Huskers win tonight

    Huskers 74
    Wisc 62

ps. My ONLY concern is the distraction of the AD today. There are rumors of him being fired today. Not sure the basketball players would really care.... but it COULD be a distraction if that is announced later today.

How about their #2 guy not playing?

Palmer and Copeland are the 1-2 scoring punch for huskers. I expect Roby to foul out trying to guard Happ down low, and with Roby off the floor and without 6’9” Copeland’s height to help down low, Huskers are left with... Borchardt?

UPDATE - Looks like the AD issues were rumors. The university has come out with full support of the AD.

I went over this selection over and over..

I feel confident that Copeland missing will put a lot more pressure on Palmer to shoot a high percentage while likely facing a few double teams throughout the night. Nebraska does really need this but I’m not sure that pressure will work for them or against them..

Wisconsin in a good rhythm at the moment and look like a live dog here. But as always,we will see.

Well he's out for the season...... SO they need to get it figured out. I feel like their entire season is on this one game. If they lose this one.... their 3rd at home.... they probably dont make the tournament. They swept the series last year and are normally tough at home. If you watched the Ohio State game you would realize that it was Ohio States day. Happens in basketball.

If they lose tonight... expect the coach to be fired.

Expect this team to run more with Copeland out. Miles said he expects this to be a faster team now. The OVER might be an additional play......

What?! Tim Miles basically invented Nebrasketball. I think he’s been excellent for your program. Can’t blame the coach for injuries.

He's most likely fired no matter what happens this season. People want him gone. He has done nothing at Nebraska. This was supposed to be his season and now its all falling apart. He's definitely on the hot seat. His ONLY chance is to make the tournament and WIN a game in the tournament. Anything less and he's gone.

And now I say take Nebraska tonight.

I know these 2 teams. I've never said bet them every game. It's all situational.

Do the sharps even look at the players though or just the trend that indicates Nebraska is stout at home? I mean they are without one of their top scorers who is also their tallest player. Wisky has two scoring bigs in Happ and Reuvers. I still think the matchup favors Wisky and am trying not to panic lol.

Vs a Wisconsin team that is one of the best in the country at slowing down tempo? I'm just.....not buying that.

Husker36, this is the reason I check the site, for reliable local info and someone who has a good feel for area teams. Always appreciate your NE insights. All of the numbers and recent play are pointing to Wisky win, but as we've all seen before, teams often play great in their first game immediately following an important players injury, giving an inspired performance for the player and themselves.

From Journalstar.com: "I think the chip on our shoulder got bigger, because especially with Cope going out and how we've been playing lately, people are doubting us more than ever," junior forward Isaiah Roby said Monday. "So I think the underdog mentality is even bigger now."

With that said, Huskers will still have to go out and perform, but I think that quote says it all for Nebraska tonight. My biggest concern was how they are going to make up 15 or so pts a game w/out Copeland, but I think tonight Nebraska is going to play some tenacious D (shout out to Jack Black and Kyle Gass) and give one of those inspired performances. The line movement definitely tells you something's up. Would have loved to have played this last night at -1. One more important note: Expecting a close game, remember that Wisky isn't a great FT shooting team, and particularly Happy, who is downright awful at the line. It's entirely possible Happ might not even be in the game come crunch time if he can't make his FTs.

Looking ahead: If Nebraska does win tonight, I think it'll give some great value on Illinois on Saturday when Huskers go to Champaign. That is when I think we might start to see the effects of the loss of Copeland.
