I never like hearing that someone lost by a hook.

For the record, when I posted this play, I checked at least 9 books and all but one had 67. Pinny, 5 Dimes, Bookmaker etc. all had 67. Click SBR "Odds" and you can look at the line/half line history. In some places it went from 67 to 66.5 and back to 67 a couple of times. I know that does not help your loss, but I just wanted to mention this.

Meh, we all win by a hook just as much. It's less bitter knowing the hook lost to a push.

It happens DD, the biggest thing that sucks is the inability to buy a 1/2 point or point on most first half lines, not your fault at all.

Funny you mention this: After losing this one to the hook earlier, I miraculously just won the GW/LaSalle under 148.5 by that very same hook! She giveth and she taketh away!

It's not your fault DD

It's the line that was offered to us at the time. I've been on the other side where I got a better line than you posted and benefited from it where as you lost the original play.

It was a good play. They started slow but heated up towards the end. I'm actually happy you pushed because even that was in doubt over the last 2-3 minutes ...

It equals out, we remember the half point losses more. Just like we remember losing QQ to AK preflop a lot more than the 55% of the time we win.

I agree and have said many times before, tough loses and lucky wins all even out over time, but like Flea says we tend to remember the tough loses more than lucky wins.

Halftime lines might have some exceptions, but please don't buy points in CBB.

Not sure if you keep a spreadsheet or not with totals and outcomes, but an interesting exercise is to see how you would have fared selling points. I have found selling anywhere from 2.5 to 6.5 points would have made me a lot more money on my basketball plays.
