Alamo - you let the ball roll down the court so you can have more time on the shot clock on the offensive end. Your not as worried to milk the game clock with 4 mins and 11 possessions left. You want to get a good shot in that spot.

This board has some dumb posts from time to time, but this takes the cake.

I'm pretty sure there wasn't a stoppage in play before the ball was inbounded, which means the game clock was running while the shot clock hadn't started yet. If anything, it shortened the game. But with that much time left the primary concern was giving Melo a few extra seconds to get down court before the shot clock started so they wouldn't have to play 4 on 5. Just a horrible thread.
