you lose all credibility when you say Bryant is done. He led the league in scoring for 95% of the season. Once Bryant is averaging 15 points per game, which by the way, most guys in the NBA can't even do, come talk to me.

It doesn't even matter if he's overrated. He's a top 10 player in the nba/world and that's an incontrovertible fact. By my standards (and most NBA experts, he is top 3-4). You can't make claims about a player of that caliber being "done."

So I can just come out and say, Carmello Anthony is done. He's washed up. Or D Wade's career is over. He's on the downhill. Once these guys can't contribute significantly to a team then come talk to me about their careers being over.

Nash is able to sustain this level because of the way he plays. he hasn't played d his whole career, he is not explosive, he doesn't get injured much. Why do you think he is so effective at this age?

Last year they could have traded old Kobe for Paul and another good players
Bynum+Odom(and maybe Artest) for Howard
Gasol for Kevin Love and Beasley (Minny wanted to make that trade)

They could have made those trades last yr
They could have been great for the next 6-7 years
but they decided to keep their old players and be good(just make the playoffs and lose) for the next 2 years

I see the Lakers contending with OKC this upcoming season. Not necessarily beating them, but a 6 or 7 game series in the Western Conference Finals is probable.

Kobe will have a down year, purely because Nash's ability to drive and dish to big men. Remember what he did with Marion and Amare back in the day? Well now he was Gasol and Bynum. Kobe will need to make his shots count and should get better looks, but nowhere near 30ppg, maybe 25ish?
