    Sa @ la
Anyone know if SA is going to rest their starters like Boston did today? I think jumping on LA -6.5 early is a great bet. Lakers are playing for everything, whereas SA may not even play their Manu, Parker and Duncan.

For now, the starters will start as pop says so but will they play all their minutes for all 4 quarters? That is to be determine.

Spurs do have something to play for. They are trying to tie their franchise records with the next 2 wins (hence why pop is not really resting his starters) plus, they need to keep chicago from catching them for the season winning record which is good for home court advantage.

If spurs lose this game to lakers, they are opening themselves up for chicago to win this home court title, consider that chicago wins their next 2 and spur wins their last.

Both teams will then have same season record, same series, same conference record but if you look at divisional, chicago leads so Chicago is hoping that Spurs will lose to them lakers.

Chicago and spurs games are only 2.5 hours apart. So if Chicago wins, expect them spurs will wanting to win. If chicago loses, spurs can celebrate early and bomb that lakers game if they wanted to but they still need to win their next game which is an easier one.

So if Bulls lose the Spurs might rest their starters if they don't think it's worth challenging LA.

I don't know exactly because I do not own an NBA team. LOL

For a personal franchise record that them spurs are chasing and one that is all so important to pop, spurs play full force.

For the playoff spot stand point of view, spurs will say "I got this one man"

          LOL

you are on the right track, even though pop is on a class of wining coach (almost untouchable), they all do have incentive bonuses for these extra wins. Their legacy & records are good for their CV's, even hall of fame ballot do count these little thing behind the close door, & their professional peer.

So does this mean we will put all the saving on the spurs?

Spurs has all to play for. Franchise tying record and home court advantage.

Lakers on the other hand, does it look like they care if they are 2nd or 3rd seed? Either way, lakers are still going to the playoff.

Sometime I think lakers losing on purpose to let dallas play catch up and tie with them to make the chasing race more exciting. I think it is just a smoke screen display to make the nba that more exciting and plus them bottom feeders like memphis and NO battling their butts off if they want to dodge them lakers or battle them lakers. A classic act is tying with dallas to keep everybody in suspense about their next move. Lakers after the break, 17-1 or 20-1 or even 23-1, who the heck would even want to play with a team that has a winning record like that? Lakers coming down to earth and now we have a ball game. LOL

And for people saying the Spurs will rest starters because of there age. Uh anyone want to type in the Lakers age they are right up there with the Spurs and Celtics as the oldest teams in the NBA.

The difference is that the Spurs have been playing well heading into the playoffs
The Lakers have been sliding recently and need to put together a decent game before the playoffs.
