been out of the last pre season games because of his custody case being in court or i think he may of played. I think he is pretty much confirmed for the opener

Heats have not impressed me at all.. Until I see wade is 100% I'm avoiding all heats games..

we have only seen the "heat" for the first 3 minutes of pre season and since then what they had on the floor is far from what you will see during the season

i have watched the celtics starters play a bit in a few pre season games and those guys look really slick

i think the celtics will take care of the heat. It will take them a while to get it together

Miami was -1 a few weeks ago at a few shops. Do you guys think they will be dogs when the lines come out in a few days?

i think the line will hold pretty firm, i would be interested to see what sort of action the books get on either side.

i would assume the public will hammer the heat still

Most of my friends (who are pretty square) are convinced that Boston should beat the "overrated" Heat. I think action on this game will be 50-50. I love the Heat here, just not sure whether I should make such a big bet on the first game of the season.

i think its important to remember the big 3 of the heat have only played those few minutes together, wade still will not be 100% i would imagine, they have lost mike miller and their bench is still shallow.

the celtics core is still their from last season and shaq might actually ask some questions of them inside

both teams might also be looking to make a statement as well

i would be hesitant to lay big money on either side in the season opener

Good points. The big 3 have not played with each other all preseason and that could be a huge factor coming into this game. Boston has looked great this preseason and Boston's bench should eat Miami's alive.

I was sure about a month ago that I would be playing Miami huge here, now not so much.

The line maybe will be -5 against Boston. And i think wade will play just 15 minutes. Put money on miami 1 game is a crazy move.

I think I am going to stay away from this opener myself, with all the uncertanty. However if I was to bet, I'd lean on the Celtics. Preseason records might not mean much, but the Celtics had a much better winning record than the Heat I do believe. I look at it like this, the Celtics have played together all season, where as the Heat have not truly all played together. The game should be close and interesting without a doubt, but I see the Celtics edging by with a win.

A square pick would be the one that chooses that new Miami team to win on the road over a championship proven team. Here is a question, would you choose the Heat to win if they were playing the Lakers on opening night? (And lets just assume Kobe was healthy) The Lakers and Boston are equal. Hence is why they took the Lakers to 7 games, after taking out 2 of the top 3 teams in the league. Many people will be on Boston because of the sheer hate of Miami, but lucky for them they will be on the right side this particular time.. However once the Heat get into mid season form, I wouldn't go against them...

I just invested so much money to buy tickets to the game... if Wade doesn't play it will be huge -EV before the betting even starts. FML
