The Rockets Will Be the Team in the West to Watch next Year

It will depend if Yao can stay healthy and if he is still as effective as he used to be if he does stay healthy. Something tells me he's not going to be the same player.

I think everyone is quickly forgetting that Yao is the best offensive center in the NBA. Yao could have played this year but he decided not too. He has been resting for more than a year, and he will be somewhat rusty but his presence changes this team completely. He doens't need to be effective right off the bat for Rockets ot be successful. Brought in a pure scoerer in Kevin Martin. A defensive presence and knock down shooter in Ariza. Scola is pretty much a better version of Haslem, hardworking and tough. Aaron Brooks one of the best young pg in the league.

The Rockets are going to give teams some serious problems next year they are the only team in the West that may be able to stop the Lakers in a 7 game series.

Lots of pundits giving the Rockets a big chance next year. They have some very good pieces. They should be a top 4 team in the west next year for sure. Adelman is a solid coach as well. I do think the thunder might take a step back this year before they take 2 steps forward the following season.

Why do you think that about the Thunder? They were a shot away from taking the Lakers to 7 games. This team will play with the utmost confidence all year and will be incredibly hard to beat at home. Durant and Westbrook are only going to get better. Ibaka was really starting to come up at the end of the season/playoffs. This team is just so deep. What team wouldn't mind having Eric Manor, Jeff Green or Kristic? I also like their coach, seems very level headed. He doesn't get too high or too low.

There's no chance that they take the 1 seed. The 2 seed is a stretch with the Thunder, Mavs, and Nuggets still playing great basketball. Along with the Spurs which are contenders every year. Rockets will be lucky to have the 6th seed.

The Spurs are going to have a major down year. All this talk about trading Tony Parker is going to cause problems, they should get rid of him as fast as possible. Duncan and Ginobili are on their way down in their careers now.

Everything you said is correct. I just think they will regress to the mean a little. Dont forget they caught a lot of the league off guard this past season. I think they are solid as well so lets see what happens.

From a gambling standpoint, I think the Rockets will be a great team to bet on next season. We're talking about a team that didn't make the playoffs this past year so they will be under the radar. The thing is, although they missed the playoffs, they were still a decent team despite all the injuries.

I'm not a huge Kevin Martin fan but he does provide a nice scoring threat. Guys like Landry, Scola, and Ariza give them some good length and Battier and Kyle Lowry are excellent defenders, both on and off the ball. Having Yao back will be huge but I don't expect him to put up 20+ and 10+ a night.

i do think the bulls will be one of the top teams in the east, for sure win the division and be a 3 seed, maybe 2
for me, miami and boston are the teams to beat in the EC, but we all know how boston takes it easy during the reg season

if yao ming can keep his big ass feet healthy they will be a deep play off team they just a good overall line up with scola , martin , ming , brooks and even jordan hill who has good potenial

There is too many "if" scenarios involving the Rockets most of them regarding health issues. This team has been historically bad when it comes to injuries. The trio TMac-Yao-Artest had potential to be ridiculously good but it ended up just being Artest.

Just fyi, Carl Landry was traded last February to Sacramento for Kevin Martin.

IMO, there is no reason to get too excited about the Rockets.

So you are saying the Thunder WON'T make the playoffs. They are going to be a 1-4 seed this season. There is no rationale for them to fall back.
