#10What about the old Celtics of the 80's, Celtics of today, Lakers of early 2000's, Jordan's Bulls. All teams with tons of superstars and lots of hype. All won championships. The argument can be made to go both ways, sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't.Scared money don't make money

Good arguments but this Miami team is more comparable to the Yankees. The reasoning of bringing in the best players that money can buy in one season to win and compete for a championship now is more like the Yankess model.
Jordan's Bulls were developed over time, the 80's Celtics was developed, early 2000 Lakers were primarily there outside of Shaq. It's not like Jordan,Pippen, and Rodman came in together the same yr via free agency and the same can be said for the other above mentioned teams.
Celtics of today is comparable more so to the Heat. The difference is there wasn't as much hype because the big 3 in that instance was all on the wrong side of 30 when they came together.. The Heats big 3 is all on the right side of 30.
The Yankees of the 90's were way more succeesful and did it the right way by developing there homegrown talent. Sure they had some nice FA's pieces but the leaders and what made them go were actual Yankess.. Not boughts and paid for FA's.
I am excited that you are proud of your Heat. However until they do something else in there front court I have to say they won't beat the Lakers in a series. Not to mention the Bulls,Celtics, and Majic will be tough outs to get past.Comment -

#14I haven't crowned my Heat yet but I wouldn't bet against them. Lyon I respect you but come on, you can't compare a basketball team with a baseball team lol. Two completely different sports. Three great players impact in basketball is exponentially greather than in baseball. You can have the three best players in baseball and not even make the playoffs. In basketball if you got LeBron, Bosh and Wade you are making the playoffs every single year and a top seed at that.
Oh for sure i agree with you about them making the playoffs every year. I also agree 100% with your statement of 3 top players in basketball is exponetially greather than in baseball... What about it all fitting into place? I also subscribe to the theory your only as good as your weakest link. Who is going to be the Heats weakest link?
Back to the Yankees though.. A sport I know better than basketball but for argument sake let me pose this your way... From a talent stadpoint the 1990's Yankess couldn't wash the 2000's Yankess socks, yet they enjoyed more success with alot less cost to the organization. Why is that?
There is alot to be said for 'TEAM'. The Heat got one of the best athletes to ever play the game in Lebron, but he is just as narcissitic as he was portrayed. Will it matter? Only time will tell. I know Lebron,Wade, and Bosh are all tight, but will it stay that way. There will be some sacrifice from 1 or all 3 in order to be a champion. Also, going back to roll players..They are never given enough attention to what they bring to the table. The Heat will have to get key minutes from unsung hero's to win a championsip. Who is it going to be?
At this point there are alot of questions for this year upcoming, but until they add some serious pieces they get slaughtered against LA in the interior..If they make it that far.
Last but not least. There will be many gunning for them and wanting to beat them. My favorite agrument many have made about Lebron joining Wade.. A true champion would rather have beat Wade then joined him.
In the end it will have to be Lebron and Wade carrying the Heat because Bosh will prove worthlees against the good teams. Problem is Lebron and Wade are very similar players. Lebron a little better passer and rebounder but in the end there mark on the game will almost always be the same.
Let's see what Riley has up his sleeve now. The pieces that will win the championship next season will be the one's not commanding all the headlines.Comment -

#15No doubt the Heat need to add a few pieces still. Tons of players want to come here now though and Riley is one of the best GM's around. He will figure it out. I just hope Spoelstra sharpens up his late game strategies.Scared money don't make money

Not that it would have mattered but it really was idiotic for the Heat not to foul pierce before the series clinching jumper with a foul to give.Comment -

I can understand Lebron,Wade, and Bosh... especially Lebron taking less since he is mega wealthy already thru endorsements...but Udonis passing that money up is actually strange for lack of a better word at the moment.
Oh btw. there is some follow up with that clip you shared.. pretty funny too.

#25Udonis Haslem is a true Heater. He grew up in Miami. He doesn't live a extravagant lifestyle, I've never seen him on South Beach in my life. He knows he can live his same kind of lifestyle without the extra money. He's saved up all his money he's earned unlike most players. It didn't surprise me that much, he would have felt so awkward playing anywhere but here.Scared money don't make money

Makes sense then if he has lived smart. Many dont. I remember toward the end of Latrell Sprewells career the Bucks offered him 3/21 and he passed... Said he had a family to feed. That was his only offer and nobody else came forward. Within a few yrs everything was being repoed and he was bankrupt.LOL.
