this game was not fixed. the refs looked fine to me, and i am a boston fan. Lakers just played a better 4th quarter. It was a great game, and looked like they were officiating pretty well.

Maybe not the place for this comment, but the trend in recent years to "bail out" some of the superstars who are having off nights by allowing them to jump into defenders is disturbing. Kobe is certainly a beneficiary of this. There is no way a defender can avoid the contact if initiated by the offensive player. Many of Kobe's bail outs (and those of others) were not even real shot attempts. Jump into a defender and then throw the ball up. Man, its an embarrassment to the game. Destroys the flow and defintiely puts the outcome of the game into the hands of the officials.

If you jump sideways or lunge into a defender you should be called for an offensive foul. Call it this way for a couple of weeks and watch this stuff dry up.
