A lesson in the Teamwork team Vs the Superstar oriented team

Let the Countdown begin for the most important game of the series with Boston and Los Angeles ,the winner of tonight's game will most likely be taking the title home to add to their collection but the real question is> will it be #16? or #18?

Will the face off record be>

10 and 2?
or
3 and 9?

Will the team that has no I in it prevail?
or
Will the "team" that has an I in it otherwise known as the one man showboat prevail?

Teamwork as all equals to one another is proven through out all of sports history as the number 1 ingredient for success,meaning super stars or showboats are the Achilles heel for TEAM in its definition..........

I am now going to give you 2 perfect examples off the top of my head without having to research>

Pittsburgh Steelers: They are the most successful Superbowl champions in the history of the NFL,Why? one word TEAM the Steelers never had a one man show/Superstar in any of their 6 Superbowl victories there is no franchise in the business that follows this rule better than the Rooney's anytime they see a Superstar developing on their team they nip it in the bud and get rid of them before they have a chance to grow into vanity or self righteousness,I will give you just 3 recent names but there is a great deal more then this>

Plaxico Burress he started his I'm better than everyone else attitude in the 2004 season,and when the season was over he was booted off the team to the NY Giants.........

Joey Porter he started his I'm better than everyone else attitude in the 2004 season however he was still under contract until 2006 and the second his contract was up he was booted to the Miami Dolphins........

Santonio Holmes he didn't get a chance to start his I'm better than everyone else attitude because the Rooney's booted him to the Miami Dolphins before the inevitable could happen...

How do I know it was inevitable??Easy all three of these Superstars share an important characteristic for spotting this behavior out and that is they all have or had run ins with the law on one or more occasions..............

New England Patriots under coach Bill Belichick:

I'm not going to go in great detail with this scenario but it is the same priority for success as the Pittsburgh Steelers organization which is no Superstars except for they only sign so called Superstars when they are at the maturity level of understanding team concept,I'll drop just a few names so you can get a better under standing of this>Randy Moss,Junior Seau,Torry Holt,ETC..

Bottom line> Champions are built on one important focus as the foundation or blueprint and this is TEAMWORK, this is the only ingredient by itself that can make all sports franchises a consistent Champion.......This is the only reason Boston has a stranglehold on the Lakers when it comes to NBA title face-offs,They met in the Title series 11 times since 1959 and Boston has won an eye popping 9 of them to a Lakers 2....

In closing> This still stands presently in 2010 with this series which Boston is the TEAM while the Lakers are the Superstar/one man show/Kobe Bryant

Now what side do you want to be on>

The Team oriented franchise.....
or
The Superstar oriented franchise....

Who gives a fukk about who the best player in the world is? People get too caught up in that and think that Kobe will somehow will the team to victory. Kobe buys into it himself and it just makes the team worse. You won't draw many fouls and you'll get Boston easy looks in transition if your offense becomes Kobe shooting jumpshots all night.

Exactly Jedi No team can survive with one teammate taking command and order this is what the coach is for,what makes me laugh is this rule is as old as time itself,but only a small percentage believe in this fact and these are the only consistent champions.The Lakers do have the best talent but talent is only good when it is combined as one to form a TEAM..Kobe thinks just because he can beat half assed teams in the finals he can do it against Boston,but this is where he is dead wrong,like I said before The Boston Celtics franchise is the father of this principal in the NBA and until the rest of the NBA figures this out Boston will continue to be by far the most successful organization of the NBA because when you win 81% of the NBA championships you are in this can only be a system and this SYSTEM is equality of all members.........

The thing that makes Boston so good is that they have players that were superstars that have decided they just care about winning and are willing to sacrifice. IMO, if Kobe was willing to sacrifice as well, the Lakers would win. That team is just so damn talented.
