it would make sense to take boston the way this series is going. The refs are taking control of these games so far and I don't see them not giving Boston preferrential treatment. So far I think the series has been somewhat predictable. Bill Kennedy was making sure the Lakers got their game 3 win last night and tomorrow it's the Celtics turn. Maybe a small play on Celtics or no play.

Even though it looks like 90% of you are on Boston, I would lean LA for Game 4. I can say after watching 3 games the better team is clearly LA and if not for Ray Allen's 3 point feast and Rondo's triple double, LA would be sweeping this series tomorrow night. I am curious to see if Pierce will be eating his words shortly...

LB this is a huge trap.. Lakers win last night and they follow up by making them a dog again.. :clueless:

I know home court is worth 3-4pts.. but come on after last night you cant tell me these teams are even.. at least public perception wise..

books make lakers the dog again.. cause they knew everyone would jump on it man.. Lakers should have won by 9 last night.. but they won by 7... a fair spread for this game would be Lakers -1, or Lakers -2 for Game 4

All the joe's were waiting for last night's game to see if boston had a chance against LA.. i still think they have a fighting chance.. but think LA will win in the end..

I am leaning Boston purely based on the opening line and public perception right now has to be with the Lakers.. which is what vegas uses against us all the time..

Oh really. Ok. IF Pierce wasn't sitting for most of game 3, and IF Allen made 10% from the 3-point line, Boston would have won that game. G.L. to you with the Lakers pick. This series is going seven games.

glad you are thinking the same as me though.. i am hopping i can get a -2.5 line to be honest with boston.. i would hate to buy down even though i think they win by 10 tomorrow...

they win by ten tomorrow then they can make the celtics -3 favorite again and the public will pound them again.. only to have them loose game 5 to the lakers..

Lakers would lose if they were ever a favorite in Boston. Remember how much the line jumped when Boston smoked Orlando by something like 20 points in Boston when they were 3 point favorites? The line jumped to -7 favoring Boston in the next game and they readily lost that game.

My point is that overcompensating by making one team more of a favorite (or underdog), when in actuality they are pretty even, because of one game result, backfires more often than you would think.

But I do think the Lakers fight hard so I suggest do not take Boston more than -2, buy a half pt or a point or just go ML up to you!

The lakers werent going to be favored in Boston. Your looking too much into the line. Boston -3-3.5 is just a nominal line for being at home. This is the same scenario as last year with the Magic. The lakers were dogs all 3 games in Orlando and won 2. They were +4.5/+1.5/+3.5 in games 3/4/5 in Orlando and covered all 3. Dont read too much into what vegas is doing. LA is the better team but they cant be made faves in Boston- thats absurd. They werent even favored in any other road venue this playoff except on that setup in game 4 at phoenix.
