Lol, nope. Even though it's his hometown you gotta figure he wants outta there and to finally start living. Kid is gonna make bank. I mean he already has a ton, but now it's really gonna come in. Him and his "team" are gonna get paid and live in the bright lights. Either New York or Chicago. Should be interesting to say the least.

There is 0 chace of lebron going to Chicago
He has already decided to change his number cos it was the same as MJ's. No way he goes and plays for the same team MJ played for.

Most likely situation, IMO, is that he ends up in New Jersey.
They can afford him and another signing plus a mid level exeption guy. they already got Devin Harris and Brooke Lopez, and then they can have Courtney Lee, Kris Humphries, chris douglas roberts all coming off the bench, those 3 guys could all be great rotation players. then you add the 3rd pick, who could be Evan Turner, Derick Favours, DeMarcus Cousins, any one of those guys would be solid in that lineup.

Prokhorov has also all but said he will be moving Yi Jianlian, so hopefully they will be smart enough to bring a player who will complement lebron, a 3 point shooting gaurd or forward would be perfect.
Can anyone honestly say that a lineup that looks something like the below couldnt win championships (maybe not straight away but in 2-3 seasons)

        Devin Harris
Mike Miller/Roger Mason/Evan Turner (choose 1, remember this is hypothetical)
        Lebron James
Derrick Favors/Al Harrington/Tyrus Thomas/Luis Scola (or better who knows what they could turn Yi into)
        Brooke Lopez

        bench:
        Kris Humphries
        Chris D-R
        Courtney Lee
they also have another first round picks
and then whoever else they hold on to from this season plus another possible signing(kyle korver, hakim warrick, kyle lowry)

All the above is more than possible for the nets.
They are also moving to a new stadium in Brooklyn, NY, Lebron couldnt be closer to NYC without playing for the Knicks (and noone wants to do that) Prokhorov is probably going to fly the players to games in private helicoptors anyway so traffic wont be a problem lol

The best fact is that Prokhorov wants to make the Nets a Global Icon...what does lebron want to be again?? Thats right, a global Icon, who better to do it with than the 39th richest dude in the world (who happens to total playboy) and Jay-Z.

The fact that he used MJ's number at all indicates that he's probably not shy of chasing someone's shadow. Also, his changing numbers makes it more likely he's going to Chicago, I would think.

I agree with b3 at the moment it looks like the Nets.
There is also a chance he goes to the Mavs with a few changes there, that can be AMAZING.
I hope he goes to the Bulls after all, with Rose and Noah I dont see how they can be sttoped.

I say again, any of you who actually think the Nets are a possibility are out of your mind. There is no way Lebron would play in that dump of an arena for two of his prime years.

He will stay in Cleveland, If Cleveland can hired Phil Jackson after the season, how can Lebron said no. Plus it will be a huge blow to the city of Cleveland. Lakes ask Jackson to take a paid cut which he won't do.

Phil Jackson? The guy is retiring after this year most likely. Lakers ask Jackson to take a pay cut? Where you getting these ideas? Dude will win one more ring this year and he will be done.

The Bulls would need some serious roster turnover if they were to get LeBron. They'd need snipers at the PF and SG position so that Rose and LeBron would have plenty of room to slash.

Doubt it. Phil has called Kobe uncoachable in the past. I wouldn't be shocked to see Phil leave to go coach Lebron is he has the opportunity, especially since the Lakers will be asking him to take a pay cut if he stays.

It's like talking to brick walls around here. The NBA has a salary cap, his billions won't have too much instant impact. There is NO WAY Lebron goes to New Jersey.

According to my understanding of NBA trade and salary rules, a team can sign players for as much as they want after they've been with the team for a certain period of time, or if a player's acquired in a trade, the time period may include the contract[s]. So, it's hard for an NBA team to get good quickly.

There are some other bullshit rules affecting trades and the soft salary cap too that generally weaken the benefit of executive skill and capacity for teams to move up or down in talent quickly, making dynasties and perennial losers the norm in the NBA. The NBA would most benefit from players team-hopping frequently since players mostly have the same stats every year, given a similar supporting cast, making the most excitement in changes in teammates or location. Look at the difference it made for Steve Nash (less so now, as he's aging).
