Hawks desperate for a win? - Let's get this straight.
I've seen a lot of posts claiming that the:

"Hawks are the desperate for a win"
"The Magic will just finish it off at home"
    Etc. Etc.

Did any of you guys watch any of these games?

First of all, the Hawks are not desperate at all - They quit as soon they get down by DD. They have no pride, which they showed in gm 3.

Second, why would the Magic wait till they get home?
Orlando is 100% focused, and they want this game just as much as they wanted game 3.

Third, Howard is playing amazingly these days and the Hawks have no answer for him.

Finally: How is the Hawks going to beat the Magic?
Atlanta is a jump shooting team, and the shots just haven't been falling.
Joe Johnson need to lead his team, and try to hit more than 2/28 from the field.
The thing is that he plays like he doesn't care, and facing a great defense, these guys gotta have their heart into it if they want just the slightest chance of winning it.

And by the way: The line +6.5 for a great home team .. The books are begging for money on the Hawks.

I myself bought in on Orlando yesterday at -5.5, and the way i see this game you should make a play on the Magic or stay away.

    Good luck.

Definitely agree. The Hawks have no fight in them and the Magic are going to come in ready to close it out. GL all.

Woodson fired. Johnson declares free agency. NBA moves Hawks out of Atlanta. Any of these scenarios are much more likely than the Hawks showing up and playing tonight. Magic by 40.

40 is a bit much isn't it? That said, Magic should sweep!

Your right the Hawks have no pride...Was joking with a friend Saturday and told him that me, him and 3 others could have stayed within 30 of Orlando on our home court. Maybe, I am exagerrating, but still for another professinal team to get beat by 30 on there floor in the playoffs don't say much for the Hawks.

Hawks should be ashamed, but they are not.

Hawks shouldnt be allowed to play this game at all. They should be sent packing and told to walk home. They have no pride at all.

People kill me with statements like that. As if the Hawks weren't trying to win for the past week. As if the Magic haven't been "due" to lose a game for the past 2 weeks. Sadly, I see a lot of people on this forum that come to that conclusion and put their money on games left and right. Helps you see why the books never closed after all these years.

If I felt that the Hawks had been playing their hardest in this series and still lost all three games I would be loading up on Orlando too. However it's very clear that the Hawks have not been playing to their full potential. I can't accept a 30 point loss as the expected outcome here.

It might happen as you say with Orlando putting their foot down, but I feel like the Hawks will play their best game of the series tonight. Not out of desperation (as that would imply that they still have a chance in the series) but I can see them covering the spread tonight, if not winning the game.

Even with the line shifts, seeing so many people loading up on the Magic is very unappealing. I feel like a lot of people are going to be sweating out their "sure thing" tonight...

fair enough...you could have made the same argument for game 3 like others though. The trend is your friend

Orlando has owned them before the playoffs started. Why would all that change tonite? I will spend some money to see Atlanta win.

I'm the Queen of the underdogs - always want to back the team that no one gives a chance. But at the end of the day I'm all about making money and I would be kicking myself if I didn't take Orlando. The sooner ATL rolls over, the sooner they allow their fans to begin to forget about this shithouse travesty of a performance. They have nothing to play for and at the end of the day, the Magic are by far the better team. If it turns out I'm wrong, well I'll make it back and then some on the next game but I haven't felt this strongly about an outcome since the Suns in game 3.

Orlando has owned them before the playoffs started. Why would all that change tonite? I will spend some money to see Atlanta win.
In Game 3, I limited myself to a play on the Magic ML and felt confident in it. I just think that when a series is at 3-0, Game 4 is the least predictable game you can bet on..

The new owners turned the Hawks' colors from black and red to blue and red. That would be like changing the Lakers colors officially to green and white. I knew the franchise was doomed at that point.
