Dex I don't think the Lakers will beat the Suns at their own game at home. It won't happen. Lakers will win these games on the road by holding the Suns to less than 105. If it becomes a shootout, Lakers not winning this in PHX. I'm on PHX game 3 though so over should be solid.

thx - yeah, im starting to incorporate umpire trends into my baseball plays. its obviously foolish not to.

if a ref favors the under in a hoops game, what would they do to make the game stay low? call more or less fouls?

was thinking about this last night - not as clear cut as in baseball where you have an ump with a small strike zone.

It should never make or break your plays but the refs are nice to have in your favor instead of not.

what are your thoughts on the nba? like i said, in baseball it would really make sense since umps with larger strike zones would favor the over, and small zones the under. how would a ref whos games tend to stay under be justified? calling more fouls does slow down the pace of the game, but it also increases FT's attempted.

If they are calling less shooting fouls then there are less free throws.

Also if they are just calling less fouls then the teams don't get into the penalty and get all the free throws at the end.

i would agree with that, though an argument can slightly be made that calling fouls slows down the tempo of the game. but foul shots hold much more weight.

Study up on your game playa. That's better for people like us who dissect matchups. None of that bullshit fixes.

People who rely strictly on line movement will have a tough time capping NBA in the future.

Sweet Jones- Bavetta influences the total because he's old school. He allows the physicality. There is no other reason. He doesn't fix any total.
