On Wednesday the Bobcats will square off against the Sixers on the road. The Bobcats have had an up and down season, but are winners of the 3 straight at home against the Lakers, Golden State, and Miami. The knock on the Bobcats are they are a very bad road team. This is an interesting matchup because the Sixers in all reality are a much worse home team than Bobcats are a road team. The Bobcats are actually a respectable 16-15 ATS this year on the road while the Sixers are a bank bursting 8-21 ATS at home. With all these known factors in mind I find it interesting that bookmakers have installed Charlotte the slight road chalk favorite. Charlotte has not been the favorite on the road in the past to Philly. I think we should take this as a clue and bet accordingly.
The Sixers by all accounts have had a very dissapointing and miserable season. They were even desperate enough to try to steal Allen Iverson away from his drinking and gambling to dress out for some home games and sell some tickets. Well, AI proved he was no longer the answer and still wasn't interested in "practicing"... Practice... "we talking about practice".. "I'm supposed to be the franchise player and we talkin bout practice" Come on man.. "We talkin bout practice"
The Sixers seem to have a new focus now. Tonites game with the Indiana Pacers was very telling as they had a real chance at winning that game. The Sixers were down by 2 at the half and played there starters only sparingly in the 3rdQ and at the begining of the 4thQ they sent one starter out on the floor down single digits..Some would say the coach was trying to rest his players, but it remained a single digit margin for much of the 4thQ and the Sixers never had more than 2 starters on the floor at any one time. The Sixers with a record of 23-40 have long mailed this season in and now are focused on there "lottery pick" slotting for next season. They will start the same players tommorow, but late in the game when it comes crunch time they will not be in the game in my opinion.
The Charlotte Bobcats on the other hand seem interested in winning at the moment as they are in the playoff hunt at the moment. They are playing with some momentum and confidence. Tommorow, is the kind of game the Bobcats must win if they have any aspirations of being a playoff team at all.
My Pick. Take the Bobcats-1
as always.. "tail at your own risk"
