Hold him back from what? The man has held up the trophy 4x in his career with the potential to do it some more in his career. I don't see it happening because it's a new sheriff in town now, but the man is accomplished.
Lakers offense was better without Kobe

#39Read before you jump to conclusions. The point is that Kobe and the Lakers do not equal the sum of their parts.
Kobe does not improve those around him, he hinders them. Obviously they need him if they want to win a championship, but they should be better with him than they are. He's just too selfish.Comment -

#40Kobe is a friging "Ball Hog". Needs to learn how to pass the ball off. My play from yesterday was the Bobcats. Talk about falling apart in the second half. Should have bet the first half only. !!!!Comment -

#44It's just sad cause everyone rides his dick cause he puts up thirty and hits a buzzer beater to win a game they should probably win by double digits...
Then the following night, Kobe still takes his 25 shots, and only makes 9 of them, still gets his 20 points, while most of the rest of the Lakers go through the motions of the "Kobe offense" and they end up losing to a Dallas team that they should absolutely beat...
If you know anything about basketball it is absolutely BLINDING the way Kobe hinders the performance of some of the players on that team... Not to mention his off the court persona leave little room to bond and produce "real" relationships with his teammates...
I have, and always will hate the way Kobe plays professional basketball... I don't hate on his individual skills, or the championships he's won (with the right supporting cast) but his "team" skills are and always will be shitty...Comment -

#45Seems like it normally brings out the best in Paul Gasol when the Lakers are with out Koby. This should help them out and give them added confidence down the road knowing they can win without him, like they did last week. Impressively tooComment -

#47I'm sorry but as much I has hate Kobe, the lakers would go no where without him. Sure they moved the ball better when he wasnt there, but Kobes presence gives the lakers that fire that helps them win close games, such as that game against the thunder where Kobes first game back he bured a three to win the game.Comment -

#49LMAO Calling Stevenson an authority was attempt at humor. You will be terrified if he learns to play team basketball??? What happens then? They win the title?? Oh wait they already did that cause he gave up to the ball to Fisher for a 3 against the Magic.Comment -

#50Without a doubt the Lakers are a better team with Kobe. You have guys like Ron Artest who just seems lost at times. Pau Gasol don't demand the ball very much against teams that are being physical with him. Kobe is falling in love with the post up a bit much but it's a chemistry issue more than anything.Comment -

Yes, they have won playing this style, but that's no reason not to strive to be better. The Lakers have a lot of talent with Odom/Gasol/Artest/Bynum, but they don't win games nearly as easy as they should because Kobe doesn't raise the level of play of those around him. If you put Lebron in his place, the Lakers would be winning nearly every game by double digits.Comment -

#54He brings his individual talent and nothing more. He doesn't improve those around him and doesn't present a positive image off the court. Kobe lives for Kobe, not the Lakers, not the NBA, and not the game of basketball.Comment -
