Why do people like the Heat?

as has been mentioned, and as a 4500+ poster one would think that you have heard that "teams minus their star player often cover atleast the frst game following his absence"

6.5 is a pretty good number regardless, but the Heat either show up or dont. Minus their star player makes it a no play for me, maybe the total is worth a look

I havent seen a single person on here pick Miami, I have seen a shit load of Memphis backers. I would take Memphis if betting this game.

I've betted enough on basketball to vouch for that stat. The very first game is the sweet spot. Sometimes the second game as well but after that the team comes down to earth. Any time you see 6.5 that's a trap in the making as well.

memphis has been struggling lately and beasley= beastly

thinkin the grizz should take this one but i dont exactly trust them to cover the spread.
miami is a strange team they can score 70 in a game or 120. probably not 120 without wade tho.

I wish I had some stats to help out with this but I can say that it has made me money. Take the team with the star out on the first game.

maybe someone like frank or someone that has old injury info can go back and check every game

bet on the teams with injured / suspended players out

especially if it a star player and especially the very first game the play without that player

i know its hard to do, but the results are there !!

I dont know if the rest of the team tightens their belt and plays harder or the other teams dont play as hard and are taking it easy expecting an easy win , or vegas over adjust the line due to the injury

here are just a few examples this year:

** dirk nowitski suspended this past sunday - dallas wins by 20 +

** philly loses elton brand and they cover their next three games

** orlando loses dwight howard and they win at utah ( s/u as a 7 1/2 pt dog ) and at golden st on dec 13th and 15th

** denver wuthout melo wins s/u against port

** utah jazz the last -3 games --- paul milsap who replaced an injured carlos boozer and had 15 straight double doubles got hurt - for two straight games they were without their entire frontcourt

boozer / okur / milsap / collins - all out

guess what ?? The just won and covered their last 3 games ( okur played in the last one ) - winning s/u at houston !!!!! And beating and covering dallas and philly

** dec 10th - phoenix traded raja bell and boris diaw and shaq was injured and didnt play ... Covered easily against the lakers

** houstons first game without mcgrady they blew out the spurs

*** the most amazing one-- the spurs already without ginobli lose tony parker -- cover 7 of there 9 next games without parker !!!!!

There are many more , these are a few i remembered of the top of my head - anyone that remembers anymore please post

The heat just straight up ball. They usually never get blown out, and they always put a good effort on the floor. Wish i could say the same about most of the Eastern Conf. D wade is fairly consistent you've always got a chance to win if Wade plays.

I think it may be an old Miami Heat photo when he was on the heat.
