What's Wrong With The Celtics?

When a team this talented and this deep is playing the way the Boston Celtics are playing, something is seriously wrong. I'm not buying that it's age, coaching, injuries or that they're a veteran team and they know it's a marathon and not a sprint so they're just taking it easy and waiting for the playoffs to start. It's something that transcends x's & o's and talent. Judging by the player's body language, the "effort" they put out every night and the all around lack of comradery that was so evident during their championship season, it really looks like they have huge problems in that locker room. If they don't all get on the same page quick, they're out in round 2.

they just are not the same team anymore. it is the age, the chemistry, the injuries as much as you don't want to believe it. no consistent offense because the cannot create any without picks and screens. pierce could do this before but he is old and hurt. garnett is old and hobbled still. wallace eats 3's for breakfast which is ridiculous and is old too. the defense is there but they don't have the offense to compete night in and night out. it is over for them unless they dig up ponce de leon

I hear ya but the same 'old' team won 11 in a row and 14 outta 15 earlier this year and injuries should not have that large of an impact when you're as deep as they are. Look at the Lakers - no kobe, no Bynum - no problem. They have great depth and when players go down the other guys step in and get it done. The Celtics have a top tier defense (and top tier defensive coach) and they have plenty of firepower on offense to play above the heads of almost every team on any night, regardless of injuries. Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Garnett, Davis, Sheed, House and Daniels can all create their own shot so they have plenty of offense to supplement the defense they play and should have no more than 12 losses, IMO.

the problem is that without pierce they are just not the same team, couple that with a cocky coach in doc rivers (missed the nets game to watch his son play a high school game) and you have imbalance, i do think they will pick it up soon though
