Who is the best 1 on 1 NBA player?

I'm talking about a game just 1 on 1. No team. Like it is back in the playgrounds except they play on the NBA Court. Every shot would be worth 1 point. First player to 11 points wins and you get the ball back if you make your shot. If you rebound a defenders miss off the rim, you must go back to the 3 point line before you come and score. You guys know what i mean.

I'm thinking if your too short, it will be hard for you to win 1 on 1 because of rebounding issues. If your too tall, then your going to have a tough time guarding them if the other player keeps shooting from deep. I know that most players in the NBA are there because of team ball but who do guys say would be the best player in the league if it was just 1 on 1.

Say there is 64 NBA Players and each of them plays each other like in a NCAA format to see who is the best player 1 on 1.

I say

1. Kobe Bryant
2. Joe Johnson
3. Lebron James
4. Dwayne Wade

I mention Kobe because overall he is the best scorer, defender and poster out of all the players I can think of.

Does anyone here think that a point guard have no chance in this? Imagine it was Steve Nash who is about 6'1 against against a player like Antonio Pierce who is 6'6. Anyone think Nash would be able to score even 3 points because of the height advantage Pierce has on him?

Also, does anyone here think there are some basketball players not in the NBA that can take on some NBA players and beat them 1 on 1? I recall a few years ago there have those basketball tournaments... sort of streetball style but those players are pretty good and those guys seem to be real good 1 on 1 players but lack the skill to be on a team.

Gimmie Lebron. I like Kobe in the NBA, but Lebron's freakish strength would be a huge advantage in a one on one game. I don't think anyone could stop him.

Carmelo Anthony ( you dont want to see either of these guys)

Monta Ellis ( havent seen anyone stay in front of him, plus he is a pure shooter)
Chris Paul ( no real consistent shot, but gets where he wants on the court)

D. Rose ( too strong/ quick for anyone to stay in front of, and he finishes at the rim)
D. Wade ( enuff said)

Something needs to be said about Brandon Roy. He has deceiving quickness. Ron Artest says Brandon Roy is the best player he's ever played against. I like Roy's effortless mid range jumper.

Lebron, then Carmelo. You really think there is a defender who can keep Lebron from the rim 1-on-1? I've never seen it.

Also, Carmelo has the quickest first step in the league and is a pure scorer from anywhere on the court.

1.Carmelo - Quick first step, can get to the basket at will, strong inside, draws fouls, consitent mid-range jumper.
2a.Wade - Can get to the basket and draw fouls, deceptive step back jumper, average mid-range jumper.
2b. LeBron - Can also get to the rim when needed and draws fouls, relies a little too frequently on jump shot which isnt as consistent as some other two guards.

Lebron is a better shooter than Wade, draws more fouls, and is strong, so I'm not sure why you would put him 3rd. I don't think Lebron would ever shoot a jumper in 1-on-1 though. Name a single defender who could keep him from the rim.

LeBron shoots jumpers when guarded one on one all the time, even takes a couple steps backwards to do so. I put LeBron 2b, as I have him and Wade basically neck and neck, I think Wade is a little more deceptive, his step back pump fake to draw fouls is the reason Id put him slightly ahead, he draws fouls on that move alot, also Wade's improved 3 point shooting, not as good as LeBron, but he has improved.

He's quick, but he would have to be two steps past Lebron or Melo to be able to get off a shot. Lebron gave him something like a 15-foot headstart on one of those fastbreaks and still tracked him down. His real problem would be guarding anyone.

I somewhat agree, but LeBron isnt always trying to get to the cup or at least draw fouls, if he did that consistenly enough it would make his team better, the old collapse the defense and kick out, why he chooses not to go this route more is mindboggling. I understand over the course of a game guys get beat up and its wear and tear, but if he did this more he would be deemed unstoppable. Carmelo gets the nod for me, when he wants to be he's just about unstoppable, has a little better handle than Bron also IMO.

u realize playing 1on1 means offense and DEFENSE ??
