Phil has deployed someone elses offence with Michael Jordan and Kobe with shaq. when has he ever been challenged in his career. I font recall Kobe or mj going down for extended periods. He'll Kobe coaches the lakers more than Phil does these days

Doc isn't a good coach, but I don't think he's to blame right now. I also don't think he deserved the credit for their championship, the Big 3 were responsible for that. Right now the Celtics are a mess. Garnett is about 50% at best, Ray Allen is officially over the hill, and Pierce is having a rough stretch. Rondo is playing better basketball than anyone on the team, but he also does a great job of alienating himself from the coaching staff and his teammates. Oh yeah, and Rasheed Wallace is done. Boston needs to start moving some of the older pieces in exchange for younger talent because they would need a miracle right now to be able to get past the Hawks, Cavs, then Lakers to win again.

This is the exact reason why Phil Jackson is the greatest coach. Even though he has great talent, he makes use of it and wins championships. No other coach would have the same amount of rings as he does.

If you think the Celtics stand a chance this year you are sadly mistaken. They are a shell of what they used to be. Just a bunch of old, beaten up, inefficient players right now. Atlanta, Orlando, and Cleveland would all come close to sweeping them.

I don't think the Celtics organization have the balls to fire Rivers. Although Boston will be 39-22 (after tonight's loss), the players efforts tonight and vs the Nets means that they don't have any respect for Rivers and play WHEN THEY WANT TO. If a coach doesn't have his players respect, they won't get far.
