2 Wednesday Totals That Look Off - Opinions?
    Grizzlies/Hawks 208.5
    Jazz/Nets 198

Both of these totals seem low to me. I would have expected the Hawks total to be in the 214-216 range the way these teams have been scoring. Not to mention Memphis doesn't like to play much defense.

For the Jazz game, the Nets have been trying to push tempo lately and the Jazz are more than willing to run with them. I see this game finishing in the 208-210 range.

    Thoughts?

It's at the end of the games that you'll know if the lines are off.

Was this supposed to be a contributing comment?

I'm saying these lines seem low, I'm taking the overs. Who agrees/disagrees?

Well, the Jazz don't run the floor nearly as much on the road as they do at home, and the Nets played tonight and have to travel home after playing the Cavs so fatigue will be a factor. The Nets are also prone to offensive droughts, I actually lean towards the under here.

As for the Grizz and Hawks, I'm more inclined to like the over. Both teams have a lot of offense and are capable of scoring 110+. The only problem I could see here is if the Hawks blowout the Grizz early we could see a rather slow 4th quarter played by the bench.

            interesting totals

yes I agree on the ATL over, but not huge, only moderately. Yes Atl has had some blowouts in the stratosphere, but this one could easily wind up like the Bulls/Toronto blowouts last week. Still, yes I agree on that one, but only like it a little.

Utah/Nets, I don't like, I lean under. Yes I am definitely leaning over on Nets games in general for the reasons you mentioned but I'm not sure this is a spot for that. I don't think Nets will try to outrun Utah, Utah starting an East Coast trip, I lean under. Yes I wish the line were a bit higher, 198 is cutting it close, could easily see this one being at like at 190 with a minute to go, but I prefer the under.

I got to agree with ya on the Nets, they were in-bounding the ball quick after scores and trying to run every chance in the Cavs game. Only problem is the Nets can go on spans where they can't hit shit and with a total around 200, might be close. Basically what I am getting at is, you can play up tempo but it does not mean shit if you can't knock down shots.

I dug this up on another board:

two of the three refs in this game have a combined o/u record of 0-10 on totals over 205

I agree with the Memphis/Atlanta game over 208.5. The Jazz game I have less confidence. I expect a great defensive showing by Utah tonight.

207 for the Hawks game, probably a lot of pushes for people. Jazz are on pace for about 200, could be really close.

No kidding bud, had the pacers -3.5 and both free throws missed, and had Jazz under 200 and both free throws made for a push. Just unreal.

Unfortunately I had a bad number on the Grizz/Hawks. I'm shocked that line moved down as much as it did. Hit the Jazz over though.
