I said he needs to learn about matchups instead of just betting based on line movement, I've been betting based primarily on matchups with only 10% regard for line movement for the past 10 years and have hit at least 60%, so I don't need ppl telling me how to gamble.

It's the NBA. I'd say line movements are just as important -- if not moreso -- than matchups.

Haha, your way off bro. If you don't know a lot about the NBA, you'll never be successful basing your picks purely off line movements. You say you've been doing horrible in NBA lately- maybe you should change your tactic (or do not bet NBA if you cannot diagnose matchups as well as interpret line movements).

Where did I discredit matchups? Where did I say it was "purely off line movements"? You seem to be under the impression that I look at line movements only, and that LB does the same. I just think they're extremely important -- at least 50/50 with what you're physically seeing on the court. For instance, the line movements told everyone Portland was the play tonight. Matchups took it one step further and told everyone that Portland ML was worth considering.

They're equally important in my book. I don't want to speak for LB, but I'd guess he'd say something similar. It's not a one or the other -- it's both. You're the one who initially said "line movement is just shit vegas does to fck with the heads of amatures" -- which is nothing short of asinine.

This is what I said NC- against don't put words in my mouth. I knew the +8 port was a solid bet, but wasn't supporting the ML line pick, but then again, wasn't saying there's absolutely no way they don't win. I said it's highly unlikely. And read the bit about the line movement.

EDIT- Then we started talking about a live in game bet, and ppl were commenting on how the ML was changing in favor of portland. But LIVE IN GAME BETTING line movement is all garbage. Any vet better knows that, because Portland can be +350 1 minute, and litearlly 30 seconds later, they could be +1000 or +105.

Does anyone else lean towards a Cavs blowout win tonight? I don't think they match the turnovers from game one. Brown is focusing on the notion of taking care of the ball. Don't really see Rose matching his production on a fg and fg attempted standpoint. Don't really see anyone else on that.500 team that will step up. Cavs well into double digits again.
