a rising line tells me to take the dog
but a flat 10 with no hook tells me to take the favorite
if the line goes any higher by game time i will take duquesne
at 10 or less its a no play because i wont lay that much
at ten or less i might play akron first half

Akron/Duquesne game is getting steamed like a freaking yoyo now guys. First it gets steamed up to 10, and then back down to 9 about an hour ago. Now I see it got back steamed up to 10 again.

That tells me Akron is the pick. Double steam on a sizable favorite is not an accident. Based solely on those movements, Akron would be the pick. Although from a casual handicapping perspective, Duquesne would seem like the pick. Will be interesting to see what happens. Probably Akron will win by exactly 10.

BTW, heres another steamer I noticed a little while ago.

Sac St. +2.5

They didn't waste anytime at all moving this one down a full point in a matter of about a minute across the board.

In sports betting steam is when a line starts to move rapidly. Most "steam games" do not necessarily reflect objective circumstances, but are games that a mass of bettors is drawn to for some reason.

A lot of books will show you the door really fast if you are pegged as a steam player. So if you do indeed play the steam, make sure that you find a pro book that will carter to your needs.

Or that a few "sharps" are drawn to and put huge wagers on... Frankly, I don't like to be involved in any way on your typical "steam" games. Of these mentioned, the Akron/Duquesne one hits me the hardest. The yoyo steam is just plain frightening, especially with a game that is already at a flat 10 point spread... I almost always bet the favorite in a 10.5 point game (in fact, I actively seek out 10.5 point spreads), but a flat 10 always scares me. And with as much action that would necessitate 2-3 different 1-point swings...

Sac St. now a 2 pt. dog. I'm surprised, I thought this line would move the other way. I really like Weber St. in this one.

Yeah, something strange is going on here. I'm considering negating my bet and eating the juice (not seriously considering, but it crossed my mind) with a small, small chance at a middle. I really don't understand the reasoning here.

Sadly, I didn't bite the bullet. I would've had to eat the juice. though there was the possibility that a middle would hit. Point is, I stood pat, then tripled up on LB St. Phew!!!
