So Jason Kidd might come to the Lakers? I doubt they would be that impressive. Wasn't Payton about the same age when he came to the Lakers? They were supposed to go undefeated that year. The Lakers should trade for TJ Ford or someone not doing Bengay endorsements.

I guess the better question would be what would they have to give up to obtain his services? You gotta remember he's been in the league for about a 10 years or so (give or take).

These days the NBA is split in half between teams that are competing and teams that are rebuilding... Almost like minors and major league. You don't really get that in MLB or NFL. I think that is why they added Ping Pong balls because too many teams were tanking it.

The Nets would be cashing in for Lakers draft picks and young guys. I say Stern should void trades like a Fantasy Sports Commish and get rid of the salary cap.

They should start by getting rid of guaranteed contracts. Make these guys play everynight for their millions instead of once every three - four seasons.

I like that attitude. How about dispersing revenue to team owners base on wins and losses. Put the regular season records into tiers. The more you lose the more tax you pay to the league. No more mailing it in at the end of the season.

How about game by game? Maybe we can get rid of these 4th quarter melt downs by teams. You only play 3/4's of a game, then thats all you get paid.

Anyone that didn't take LAL +7500 before the season shouldn't be betting.

nfl contracts aren't guaranteed, that's part of the reason it's become the most popular smort imo
