Last week my reliability indices took a sharp turn into the red – with newly traded players turning starting fives and rotations upside-down, projected MOVs became troublingly erratic. With 2/3rds of the regular season gone, I’m usually putting on the brakes until the post season anyway, but I’ll give it another week – especially because of “play-in” and the fact that so many teams in the west could make a run to play-off seeding. On the other hand, tanking for Cade Cunningham could soon become the rule; and, given that the 2021 draft looks a lot deeper than last year, the NBA’s bottom feeders may soon stop playing defense altogether. Bottom line: projections based on past performance will become increasingly unreliable; but, I’ll give it one more week. GLTA
