I will say this.. Pangos is a really good player. The exposure he'll get from this tournament may land him an NBA spot when his contract is up.

i agree............. no qualifying should be no olympics............... of course, canada probably won't have a problem with that i.e. won't be at olympics.

pangos should be in NBA............ back up PG/key player on reserve unit isn't that much about measurables. i think he'd help alot of teams.

They might make the Olympics, but not likely from this WC. Only two spots up for grabs for Americas teams including USA. Argentina will be the other team I think. Featuring two top flight ACB guards...

But there will be an Olympic qualifying tournament in late July next year. Not sure what the criteria is for making that, but if they're in it and they bring out the big guns they'll have a good chance.

That's because he's not on the team. He was selected but his agent persuaded him to "get ready for the nba season" -why play for your national team on the global stage with your club team coach at the helm when you can shoot jump shots in an empty gym?

It's truely amazing the job Nurse has done with this squad in the prep. I've seen these guys compete with other coaches on the sideline and it's like a different universe!

China are even more disappointing than Canada.

Yao Ming has a lot to answer for... he had so many opportunities to get a core group experience but completely wasted it. They didn't need to win any of the qualifiers due auto-qualification as the host, and so they used it as a tryout for about 30 players. Then they get invited to Summer League and again they use it as a tryout for non-regulars. KO'd by the Venezuelans again.

Canada isn’t really a disappointment. We knew their group was strong. Australia and Lithuania are medal contenders. Beating one of them would have been historic.

I don't mean with the talent they had, rather the no-shows, and Joseph deciding/ being allowed to skip the prep. Actually felt they played much better when Joseph was not on the floor... every time he touched the ball the offense turned to shit.

I was waiting to fade Serbia against USA they dont play any defense, and Jokic does not have the stamina to play international ball for big minutes because breaks are shorter.

That's an interesting point -not heard that before. I was thinking A. him being in less than ideal shape, and B. no illegal defenses in FIBA play so back to the basket basketball is hard.

One thing's clear, this Serb team is the most overrated in International basketball, and you will have more chances to fade 'em yet (classification).

Too much riff-raff refereeing these games. The Euro ones are fine, and the USA ones no doubt, but the SA ones and the Asian ones are either just really bad at it or on the take. That call against Bogut at the end of regulation is a phantom foul if I ever saw one.
