Simmons GF played role in not choosing Sixers
i think LeBron saw the writing on the wall..

He liked the Sixers early.. but he understood that players who start focusing much of their energies on 'celeb' girlfriends instead of working on their weakness in their games, and fitness in the off-season are just going to wealthy tumbleweed in the annals if the NBA.. (Simmons needs an outside shot) should be doing more of that.

Tristan Thompson was a much better player, before he started dating a reality TV show/Kardashian family. Players that fall prey to the trappings of quick fame, should be avoided. He saw Ben Simmons succumbing to the trap. Pity.

LeBron understood that Kahwi Leonard really wants to be a Laker, and that the best way to make sure that happens is to jump first. Leonard will be a Laker this year or next now.

***LeBron also saw how easily the Spurs were handling there Warriors (Curry AND Durant) in the 2017 WCF.. before Steve Kerr sent out ZAZA Pachulia to remove Kahwi from the Series (which he did very quickly).
Without Leonard in the fold.. Spurs went down 4-1. Kahwi knows how to score on Warriors, and neutralize them defensively.

Embiid is great, but already at this young age is injury prone. Will only become more so, not less. Lopez is 7'Ft Center.. and 270 lbs. That's big enough.

i don't think it was ever much more than cleveland or houston... semi-hindsight but semi on record with that too..

not sure ben simmons and lebron were great fit. and i think LAL and Los Angeles made tons of sense for so many non-NBA reasons

fading players dating kardashians has been "free money" in the past.. i didn't check for blake griffin this whole year (i think they broke up eventually)... i doubt this affected lebron's decision one iota

the one big "red herring" to me was people thinking lebron wouldn't want to go to the west....... basically he has to beat GSW to win title either way. and he either has to beat houston or philly/boston to make it to finals. basically has to beat 2 good teams either way and GSW is there no matter which team he goes to

i remember i said i remember jack-ass guaranteeing me he'd go to NYK on the first big decision the guy arrogantly laughed when i suggeted otherwise.

then we had analogous people here (nowhere near as arrogant) laughing at anything other than sixers......... oops, i guess you were wrong

you can really tell a lot about a player's mentality and character by the partners they choose to spend their time with.

Ben Simmons shacking up with Kendall Jenner told LeBron everything he needed to know about Ben Simmons, and what kind of player he will evolve into.

there's an old saying: "If you show me your friends, i will show you your future"

Lonzo Ball will be gone. Numbers are terrible.
this dude shot .360 % for the whole year.

its' not even his fault. it's that POS father of his.
How can you just relax and play with that fool
screaming that you are the best player in the NBA

no. LeBron fan. wherever he is.

but he's playing for Lakers, so i root for team that he is on..
after LeBron retires.. i will no longer be rooting for Lakers…
just as i no longer follow the Heat, or the Cavs as of this afternoon.

                    but good question.
